The best Christmas present ever? Boy breaks down in tears when his parents tell him via a cracker message that he is going to be a big brother

  • Scottish boy Sean had wanted a little brother for quite some time
  • His parents decided they would break the news to him in a Christmas cracker
  • When he reads out the message from them he begins crying with happiness

There was only one thing Sean has wanted for Christmas in the last few years - a baby sibling.

So, when his parents revealed in a Christmas cracker that he was going to be a brother, he was overcome with emotion.

The footage of his reaction was uploaded to Facebook by his grandfather, George Brown, from Glasgow, with the message: 'Sean, my wee grandson has been pestering his Mum & Dad for years for a wee Brother or Sister.

'This is how he was informed on Christmas morning.'

He opens the cracker and puts the obligatory hat on, but is the only person in the room not to know what the surprise is.

The excitement in the rest of the room is palpable as he reads the message out.

Sean starts: 'Merry Christmas, son. Me and dad thought we would give you the best Christmas present ever. Guess what that is.

He stops abruptly, having realised what the rest of it says, before continuing: 'You're going to be a big brother.'

'Am I?' he asks in disbelief.

When his parents confirm the news, he wells up and begins crying in his mother's arms.

And the footage moved a lot of people on social media.
