He cleans up well! James Marsden looks dapper in blue double-breasted suit for Los Angeles Confidential party

He likes to look ruggedly handsome in jeans and T-shirts during his down time.

But when it comes time to play dress up, James Marsden does a very fine job.

During a party for his new cover of Los Angeles Confidential magazine in Culver City on Thursday, the 41-year-old actor looked impeccable in a blue double-breasted suit that reminded everyone he's on the A List.

A white dress shirt and blue patterned tie rounded out his look.

His dapper image was accented by a pocket square and shiny brown shoes.

If one James Marsden at the event wasn’t enough, guests got to see James’ bright blue eyes as the prominently displayed cover photo for October's issue of Los Angeles Confidential.

The interview that accompanied Marsden’s cover story just made the actor even more attractive.

'When I was younger, I was always going to be cast as the preppy, good-looking guy at school,' James said in the magazine.

'My main struggle was I never bought myself as the cool guy because I wasn’t that guy in high school.

'I see myself more as James Bond’s goofy younger brother, as opposed to James Bond.'

But Marsden is more than a pretty face, considering his acting work over the past two decades.

Currently appearing in the Nicholas Sparks adaptation The Best Of Me, Marsden has an impressive resume of romantic movies from The Notebook to 27 Dresses to Enchanted.

Add in the actor’s role as Cyclops in the X-Men movie franchise, and it’s safe to say that James is a bona fide star.

He is also a father of three children. He has  two – Jack, 13, and Mary, age nine – with ex-wife Lisa Linde and an almost two-year-old son, William, with Rose Costa.
