Liam Hemsworth and Miley Cyrus 'to spend New Year in Australia as their wedding plans are underway'

A-list couple Liam Hemsworth and Miley Cyrus are set to celebrate the New Year Down Under. 

The Herald Sun reported on Thursday that the couple will arrive in Australia in the 'next few days' after spending Christmas in America. 

And planning their wedding is also high on their agenda during their stay in the country, which is likely to include a trip to their favourite town of Byron Bay, according to the publication.

They quote a source as saying: 'They will have New Year's Eve in Australia again this year. People around Byron are on high alert for their wedding, we are hearing that they will be making plans while they are here.'

The publication also claims that the pair will be attending Falls Festival during their stay.  

Miley confirmed the couple's engagement on the Ellen DeGeneres show earlier this year, after they broke off their original engagement in 2012.

On Monday, Liam Hemsworth took to Instagram to share a loved up snap of himself sandwiched between his mother Leonie and fiance Miley. 

Miley is pictured with her eyes closed lovingly on the cheek, while his mother rests her arm and head on his shoulder.  

Liam is seen with a cheeky smile and a thumbs up sign as he jokingly captions the post 'whatever.'

Meanwhile, it's been a blockbuster year for the Hemsworths, with high-profile movies, engagements, and career resurgences.

And Luke, Chris and Liam were all in the mood to celebrate on Christmas Day along with their partners and children.

Pictures shared to Instagram from the A-lister family showed the gang dressed in matching festive pyjamas as they celebrated in what appeared to be a perfectly styled living room.

Each person's personality was taken into account for the design of their onesie - which all featured a name or message on the bum flap. 

Luke and Chris's children posed together in one picture, showing off their names on the backside of their red onesies with snowflake print.

Elsa Pataky showed off her hilarious flap, which featured the words naughty and nice. A box next to 'naughty' was ticked.

Earlier, the Fast and the Furious star showed off her hunky husband to Instagram, sharing a picture of herself in a bra and pants and being kissed by Chris.

'Best Christmas present ever! A kiss from @chrishemsworth,' she gushed to her extensive social media following. 

Liam's fiancee Miley Cyrus added a headband with ears to her outfit, fitting it back into her ostentatious aesthetic.

 A big family photo, which appears to include a few friends, shows every adult wearing large stuffed slippers shaped like puppies in Santa costumes. 

The grown ups were seen squished in on a large couch in front of a table covered in candles and an indoor bonfire. 

A giant sign behind the couch spelling out Merry Christmas with lights inside each letter gave the celebration a Hollywood touch.
