She'll be back! Carrie Fisher had already filmed her scenes as Leia for Star Wars: VIII before her tragic death
Shocked Star Wars fans are mourning the death of Carrie Fisher.
But they may be slightly comforted to know that the actress had already filmed her scenes as Leia for the upcoming Star Wars: VIII, due out December 15, 2017.
The 60-year-old actress passed away on Tuesday after suffering a presumed heart attack.

Carrie was flying from London to Los Angeles on Friday when she went into cardiac arrest near her destination.
Paramedics removed her from the flight when it landed and rushed her to a nearby hospital.
The celebrity, who battled drug addiction and bipolar disorder, is best known for playing then Princess Leia in the original 1977 film Star Wars that became a surprise hit and kicked off a franchise.

She reprised her role as the feisty royal in the following two films, Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back in 1980 and Star Wars: Return Of The Jedi in 1983.
Writer-director George Lucas revisited his creation in three prequels that kicked off 16 years later with 1999's Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace, Star Wars: Episode II - Attack Of The Clones in 2002 and Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge Of The Sith in 2005.
He rebranded the original three films Star Wars: Episode IV, V and VI
But Carrie's character, now General Leia, didn't show up again until the blockbuster franchise was rebooted by J.J. Abrams last year.

As well as her acting career, the daughter of iconic actress Debbie Reynolds and the late pop singer Eddie Fisher was a successful author.

She appeared on BBC One's The Graham Norton Show to talk up both her book and Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, in which a younger version of her Leia character appeared at the end of the movie uttering the single word 'Hope.'
Carrie had also been filming scenes for Amazon TV series Catastrophe.
