It's finally over! Halle Berry and Olivier Martinez finalize divorce after splitting 14 months ago... as he allows her to say she left him in court papers

Halle Berry and Olivier Martinez have finalized their divorce.

According to TMZ, they will be share physical and legal custody of their only child together, a son named Maceo, aged three.

In the papers, he allowed the Catwoman actress to declare that she left him first. They had filed at the same time in October 2015 and who wanted out first was an issue for the two actors.

Only one person can be the petitioner in a divorce under California law. 

Though they have settled on custody, they still have to deal with dividing assets. This is unusual because they have a prenup so there should not be too much complication.

They wed in 2013 after meeting on the South African set of the movie Dark Tide.

There were many reports that the two had reconciled as they went on vacations together in the past year with their son and her daughter, Nahla, from former boyfriend Gabriel Aubry.

But the whole time they had been living in separate homes. 

And now it has become clear they are no longer interested in staying together. 

After their shock split, TMZ reported they both had hot tempers. It was added he was jealous of her big career that included a James Bond film and the highly regarded Monster's Ball as well as the TV show Extant. 

People added that it was hard for him to be around such a force of nature.

'Everything about her emasculated him: She was beautiful, iconic, employed and the breadwinner,' a source close to the couple said.

'They were living off of her and that entitled him and it enraged him – there was a duality there.'
