Whether he is topless scything in a field or washing himself down in the bath, it appears the nation just cannot get enough of Poldark in the buff.

For the hit BBC series, starring Aidan Turner as the Cornish hero, has claimed the top spot for television’s biggest moment of the year for the second year running.

And it seemed that it was not just Turner who captured the minds of viewers by revealing a little flesh, as the third biggest moment of the year was awarded to a glimpse of Tom Hiddleston’s bare bottom during a scene in The Night Manager.

The poll, which was conducted by Radio Times, asked 2,000 viewers to pick what they found to be the most dramatic, inspiring and emotional clips from a shortlist of 35 scenes.

Aiden Turner’s scene in this year’s series of Poldark was voted the best scene of 2016 which saw the 33-year-old strip down for a scrub in a tin bathtub.

As well as retaining the top spot, Poldark also managed to have another risqué scene voted in the top four of the list.

Ross Poldark’s controversial ‘rape’ scene with Elizabeth, who is played by Heida Reed, also proved memorable moment of the year by viewers.

The third biggest moment of the year was awarded to a glimpse of Tom Hiddleston’s bare bottom during a scene in The Night Manager.

The top 16 scenes were made up of a variety of moments from dramas, documentaries, sporting highlights and even Ed Ball’s performance of Gangnam Style on Strictly Come Dancing.

The former shadow chancellor’s routine was voted one place above the Brownlee brothers crossing finish line arm-in-arm at this year’s Triathlon World Series.

Other shows listed in the top 16 were Game of Thrones, Line of Duty, War and Peace and Peaky Blinders.
