Going up? Friday morning TV host Ryan Seacrest found himself stuck in an elevator while on his way to Good Morning America

The host of Dick Clark's Rockin' New Year's Eve was on his way to reveal this year's dazzling New Year's Eve ball when his elevator stopped.

Not being the worrying type, Ryan bided his time by joking with the other stuck passengers and capturing the sitcom-worthy scenario for Snapchat.

In one snap the stuck star says: 'Hoping we get out by tomorrow night!' referring to tomorrow's annual celebration.

Not too worried: The 42-year-old star smiled and posted on Snapchat while waiting to be liberated from the stalled elevator

Patience, patience: The On Air with Ryan Seacrest host didn't look frazzled as he endured a half-an-hour elevator halt Friday morning

Firefighters arrived over half an hour later to help the bemused Seacrest and crew off the halted lift.

The TV-host thanked New York's Best for their assistance:

'Thank you to the fire department who came and rescued us and pried those doors open.'

To the rescue! New York firefighters arrived to help the stuck passengers out of the elevator

Very gracious: The Emmy nominated host made sure to give a shout out to the New York heroes on social media

After a brief hiccup the Emmy nominated host was able to show off this year's fabulous New Year's Eve ball.

Safely arriving in the studio, the perpetually tan producer told the Good Morning America hosts :

'I will tell you this, if you've ever been stuck in an elevator, it's funny and cute for about 10 minutes and then about 20 minutes in, it's not so funny anymore.'

Laughs aside: Once safe at the Good Morning America Studio was excited to talk about this year's Rockin' New Year's Eve

Despite this minor bump in the road, Ryan is more ready than ever to host the annual New Year's extravaganza.

The star, who also produces the swinging New Year's bash, will host alongside a excellent slate of performers including Mariah Carey, Gloria Estefan, Fergie, DNCE and more.

Dick Clark's Rockin' New Year's Eve begins the festivities December 31 at 8pm Eastern with the ball dropping at Midnight EST.

Grand reveal: After some morning delays, Ryan was able to reach the top of One Times Square to show off this year's fabulous Waterford crystal encrusted ball with cohost Jenny McCarthy

'Can't wait' Later on Friday, Ryan posted a snap of himself on the set of this weekend's New Year's bach. He added the caption: 'Can't wait for tomorrow night in Times Square w/ @dnce, @mariahcarey, and over a million of our closest friends'
