'It's a bit too soon': Ashley Greene weighs in on a possible Twilight reboot and admits the original cast probably WON'T be involved

She went from unknown actor to Hollywood superstar in a matter of weeks after debuting in Stephanie Meyer's Twilight film series in 2008. 

Now, over eight years on, actress Ashley Greene, 29, has weighed in on whether the wildly successful franchise will see a reboot in the near future. 

'Is there a chance that they eventually do some kind of reboot? Of course,' she told The Daily Telegraph this week.

'I feel it's a bit soon just now but it is a definite possibility,' she added. 

Ashley, who is known for playing the vampire Alice Cullen in the films, also explained that the original cast would likely not return for the reboot.

'With the original cast involved, I don't know simply because we are 10 years older and we are supposed to be non-ageing vampires.'

Last month, Twilight star Kristen Stewart reflected on her time working on the saga, which ran from 2008 to 2012, during an appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show. 

'It was something I really invested in. It mattered to so many people,' she shared.

'I look at those photos [from the films] and I feel like I'm looking at a college yearbook. It was just after my high school experience would have been so it feels like just after.'

When asked what she thinks about looking at images of herself in the films, Kristen joked: 'Really uncomfortable hair extensions?'
