Donald Trump has promised to reveal new information after Russia's alleged hacking during the election on Tuesday or Wednesday next week. The president-elect made the remark when pressed by reporters after he arrived at his New Year's Ever bash at the Mar-a-Lago resort. 'I think it's unfair if they don't know. And I know a lot about hacking. And hacking is a very hard thing to prove. So it could be someone else. And I also know things that other people don't know, and so they cannot be sure of the situation,' Trump said. When asked by the reporter what the president-elect knows that others do not, he said: 'You'll find out on Tuesday or Wednesday.' Earlier, those attending the party - including Sylvester Stallone and his wife, Jennifer Flavin - were seen walking the red carpet. Guests were served, 'Mr Trump's Wedge Salad' (inset) as part of the menu.

As promised by the Russian government, a plane has landed at the Dulles International Airport in Virginia, to transport the 35 Russian diplomats and their families, who were expelled by President Obama for their alleged meddling in the presidential election, back to their country. Russia officials also revealed that one of the diplomats leaving America is a consulate chef. As part of sanctions imposed on Russia for suspected cyber attacks during the US election, two of their country clubs outside New York City and Maryland (left) lie abandoned after Obama's expulsion. A photo of the last dinner (top right) for some of the diplomats was posted on Facebook with the caption: 'It's so difficult to remain diplomatic; but we will.' Hollywood power couple Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie announced their divorce in September. Now the pair are embroiled in a bitter custody battle. Pitt told a friend that this has been 'the worst holiday season of his life' but as he goes into the New Year his friends say he's determined to get his kids back, no matter what.'

Luann de Lesseps is a married woman once again, with the Real Housewives of New York star and her beau Tom D'Agostino (left on Friday) officially becoming husband and wife on Saturday evening. It was the second marriage but first actual wedding for Luann, who eloped back in 1993 with her first husband, Count Alexandre de Lesseps. Luann's New York co-star Dorinda Medley (bototm right) was among the guests at the wedding, bringing along her longtime boyfriend John Mehdessian. Not among the guest were Luann's other four New York co-stars, who declined to attend the event. Other Housewives who were on hand for the ceremony included former New York cast members Jill Zarin and Kelly Bensimon (top rigth), current Atlanta star Cynthia Bailey, and Marysol Patton, who starred in the now-cancelled Miami edition of the show.

Francoise Souza Oliveira (left and right), 40, held a shirt over her head while officers escorted her out of the police station to a jail in Belford Roxo, Brazil. Her transfer came the day after her Officer Sergio Moreira, with whom she was romantically involved, confessed to police he had killed her husband, according to investigators. Ambassador Kyriakos Amiridis (inset), 59, went missing on Monday night. Oliveira, his Brazilian wife and the mother of their 10-year-old daughter, reported him missing to police on Wednesday. But authorities now believe that 29-year-old Moreira killed Amiridis in a 'crime of passion' at Oliveira's direction. They said the ambassador was likely stabbed in the Rio De Janeiro home he owned with his wife, and that his body was burnt afterwards. Oliveira and Moreira were both taken into custody on Friday.

Tuesday's death of actor Carrie Fisher (left), who played Princess Leia in Star Wars, set off waves of remembrance among fans - but also speculation over her character's return in yet-to-be-filmed episodes. Filmmakers are tapping advances in digital technology to resurrect characters after a performer dies, most notably in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. The film, in theaters now, features the return of Grand Moff Tarkin, originally played by long-dead actor Peter Cushing. It also features the return of a younger Carrie Fisher, made possible with special effects.

An Alabama man came home to find his wife canoodling in bed with another man - and was enraged. In a video clip that went viral on the Internet, the man is seen (right) climbing on top of his wife's friend as he is in bed wearing a T-shirt and a pair of underwear. The husband then grabs the man by the back of his head and pushes him off the bed. He then violently pulls him back by his shirt and sends him hurdling toward the ground (left) in a maneuver that could have been learned from watching pro wrestling.

Bikram Choudhury (far left) has been stripped of his worldwide empire by a Los Angeles court - the latest twist in a $8million sex harassment case brought by Oxford-educated lawyer Minakshi Jafa-Bodden (left with Choudhury and right). Choudhury made his name and a $74million fortune from superheated yoga in which devotees, including celebrities such as David Beckham, Lady Gaga and Madonna, sweat through exercise routines in 105F heat. And as well as being awarded the 700 franchised Bikram Yoga studios around the globe, Miss Jafa-Bodden will also receive Choudhury's multi-million-pound fleet of 43 cars (main picture), which includes 13 Rolls-Royces, eight Bentleys and three Ferraris.

Rondo Rousey's mother has leapt to her daughter's defense after she was mercilessly taunted by Amanda Nunes - who beat the former UFC poster girl in less than a minute. Rousey was resoundingly beaten by Nunes, the bantamweight champion, in her return fight in Las Vegas on Friday night. But despite the defeat, Rousey's mom remains firmly in her daughter's corner. 'All of those who have criticized Ronda for taking a loss so to heart, for not just "shrugging it off" don't understand that what made Ronda so successful is that she cares DEEPLY about winning to an extent that I don't believe the average person can wrap his/her head around,' AnnMaria De Mars (right, with Rousey) wrote on her blog.

Mariah Carey's (above) meltdown on national television is the talk of Twitter as 2017 began with a bang. The diva stormed off the stage in New York's Times Square during the New Year's Eve telecast on ABC after the wrong lip-synced track played during her performance. Carey appeared flustered and on the verge of tears as she declined to sing some lines of her songs. Carey's meltdown became the most trending topic on Twitter (inset), with commenters mercilessly trashing the songstress. Hellen Keller could have lip synced to Mariah Carey better than Mariah Carey can lip sync to Mariah Carey,' wrote one Twitter user.

Australia has rung in the New Year with seven tons of fireworks making Sydney's Harbour Bridge 'rain purple' in a tribute to the late singer Prince (top right). Around 1.5 million revellers surrounded the harbour to join in the festivities. Two hours later, Japan ushered in 2017 in style with thousands packing the streets of Tokyo and releasing balloons into the air in celebration of the New Year. Families in North Korea looked excited as they watched the fireworks display at the Kim II Sung Square in Pyongyang (bottom right). Auckland, in New Zealand, rang in the New Year at 11am GMT (bottom left). Performers gathered and posed for photograph as they celebrated the arrival 2017 New Year at Beijing Olympic Park in China (top left).

Otou Yumi, from Nara, southern Japan, continues to live with his three children and wife, Katayama, who perseveres in making conversation with him but has only ever received a nod or a grunt in response for 20 years. The Japanese couple's silence was revealed by their 18-year-old son Yoshiki, who wrote into a TV show asking them to fix the situation as he had never heard them have a conversation. And sure enough, a meeting was arranged between them in the park where they had their first date, as their emotional children watched on.

Figure skater Surya Bonaly (inset with Nancy Kerrigan) closed out her competitive career 18 years ago by pulling off a perfect back flip at the 1998 Nagano Olympics (right), a feat that left hundreds of millions of viewers around the world in awe. And now Bonaly is back with another shocking move, as the 43-year-old athlete recently revealed in an interview that she has been living in Minnesota for over a year. Bonaly, who was born on the French Riviera in Nice and then moved to Paris as a child, said she settled down in Minneapolis for the sake of love. The 43-year-old is engaged to professional skating coach Peter Biver (left), who grew up in the Midwest and teaches in Minneapolis.

There's nothing like coming home and being greeted by man's best friend. That's how one Ohio man must have felt when his dog was so excited to see him, the pup leaped into his arms the minute he came home. The adorable new video shows the dog covering his surprised owner with kisses and giving him a huge hug.

Jordan Areaux and her boyfriend Masyn Lehl had their photos developed at their local Meijer grocery store in Plainwell, Michigan, hoping to surprise their families with the news on Christmas day. Areaux, 23, had gone to high school with two of the employees. She believes the women took pictures of her announcement to 'start drama' and word quickly spread through their small town that she was pregnant. The Allegan County Prosecutor's Office will decide whether to press charges.

An incredibly adorable bald eaglet has finally broken out of its shell in its Florida nest. Eagle parents, Harriet and M15, are Fort Myers' most beloved bald eagles and onlookers from across the globe watched eagerly as the pair welcomed their first hatchling Saturday morning. After it was born, the baby bird was heard singing as Harriet and M15 continued their wait for their second egg to hatch. Both eggs were expected to hatch between Christmas and News Year's Day. And since the second egg has yet to hatch, some are speculating that the sibling eaglets may be born in 2016 and 2017. At one point the mama bird left her nest, allowing viewers to get a good look at the newest addition to the bald eagle family. The little ball of fluff waited patiently for its mother to return and even chirped a little. Once Harriet came back to the nest, she carefully maneuvered her body so that the egg and her hatchling would fit comfortably under her belly.

A 26-year old mother, Keiana Herndon, of Camden, Arkansas, was on Facebook Live when she began to feel sick and died live on social media as her horrified friends and one-year-old son looked on. The mom's aunt, Barbara Johnson (pictured) said her niece wiped her face and began to act strangely. Herndon's mother, Mary Morgan, said her daughter had thyroid problems and it triggered a fatal issue with her heart. Herndon has over 3,400 Facebook friends but it's unclear how many were watching her live stream. The video has since been removed from Facebook.

A golden long-haired dachshund held a peeled banana between his paws and noisily munched away at it until his owner finally took it away. Veterinarians even recommend bananas for pooches with stomach trouble.

Zenda, at 25 years old the oldest lioness in the US, was euthanized Friday at the Philadelphia Zoo when her health took an 'acute decline' said the zoo. She lived five years longer than the average life expectancy for lions raised in zoos.

Popsugar Food have created wine shot glasses made from cheese in a video sure to instill fear and horror into all who watch it. The video, shared on Facebook, has also left the Internet divided. 'This should not be a thing,' one person said, simply.

A whale was spotted in the East River by officers patrolling New York City's harbor in a police boat over the holiday weekend. The New York Police Department's special operations division posted a photo of the unusual tourist on its Twitter account Saturday morning. The whale was seen swimming along the shores of Manhattan's upper East Side, close to Gracie Mansion, where the mayor lives. U.S. Coast Guard Petty Officer Frank Iannazzo-Simmons says officials from his office haven't seen the whale. However, he says based on the photos it appears to be a humpback whale.
