The family that parties together clearly stays together, well at least if you are a Cyrus.

While most children would have a long list of things they would prefer to do than have their mother join them at a party - Miley Cyrus welcomes her mom's presence.

The 21-year-old singer was not only happy to party along side mom Tish in Miami last month, but was comfortable smoking a suspicious cigarette indeed.

Exactly what was in the Wrecking Ball star's roll your own was hard to tell, but the singer was clearly in a good mood at the Floridian house party on December 19.

Pictures of the star's night just came out on Monday and show the singer kicking back not just with her 54-year-old mother, but also best friend Cheyne Thomas, makeup artist Denika Bedrossian and performer Amazon Ashley.

The group were in town as part of Miley's busy Jingle Ball performance schedule, so it was no wonder she felt she needed some R&R.

Sharing more than a few laughs with her mother, Miley sucked back on her roll-up before blowing big plumes of smoke.

According to a witness whatever the former Disney star was smoking made her very popular as she was seen 'passing it around the table'.

Miley then made sure to make her mother even more a part of her night, heading down to the waterfront property's dock and taking pictures.

Trying to pose right in their selfie shots caused the mother daughter duo to break out into even more laughter.

Clearly relaxed, the star dressed down for the evening as recently the 21-year-old has debuted some very over-the-top ensembles.

Instead, the Last Song actress donned a simple black turtle neck with a pair of black pants.

Of course staying true to her new style direction, the songstress did manage to flash some midriff thanks to the cropped top.

Standing testament to her need to have an off night, Miley did not wear any shoes and her what's left of her hair in a tiny pony tail, which showed off the shaved side of her head.

In the past Miley has been very vocal about her use of marijuana.
