GIRL ABOUT NEW YEAR: Lovelorn Cara's LA dash to rekindle her romance

Absence has made the heart grow fonder for supermodel Cara Delevingne and St Vincent, who are poised to give their relationship another go.

I reported last September that the couple had called time on their 18-month relationship after a bust-up over Cara’s partying at the Burning Man music festival in Nevada.

Now friends of the pair tell me that Cara, 24, jetted off to Los Angeles shortly before Christmas to see the US singer – real name Annie Clark – in an attempt to rekindle their romance.

A pal tells me: ‘Their relationship broke down because Annie is very health-conscious and couldn’t understand why Cara wanted to go out partying and attend the Burning Man festival instead of spending time with her.

‘However, when things were good they were great. They were totally besotted with each other and made each other very happy. They spent a lot of time talking in LA to see if they could put their differences behind them and continue the good times.’

In addition to having a series of heart-to-hearts, the pair also enjoyed an intimate dinner and strolled around an art gallery.

Cara flew to LA just days after returning from a luxurious holiday in the Maldives with 160 friends.

The trip was originally rumoured to have been organised so that she and St Vincent, 33, could get married there.

However, after their split, Cara decided to use the break for a massive holiday with her celebrity chums.

After splitting from Cara, St Vincent briefly dated Twilight actress Kristen Stewart, while Cara kept her love life private for once.

The only hints about her sadness came in a series of cryptic messages posted on Instagram.
