'The 4 things that I love the most': Madonna spends New Year with son Rocco Ritchie and his siblings as they ring in 2017 together with family ski trip after strained 2016

She maybe one of the world's most recognisable faces in music.

But underneath it all, Madonna, 58, is a proud mother-of-four and couldn't help but gush about her brood as she rang in the New Year among the Swiss mountains.

Taking to Instagram, she shared a candid picture surrounded by her children Lourdes, 20, Rocco, 16, David, 11, and Mercy, 10.

Posting the snap of them infront of the snow covered mountain range, she captioned the snap: 'Starting 2017 with The 4 things that I love the most'. 

The Queen of Pop was in high spirits as she smiled while sporting a pair of visor sunglasses as her children posed around her in their ski gear.

The beaming appearance comes after her son Rocco couldn't resist cuddling up to his model girlfriend Kim Turnbull, also 16, as he posted a cosy Snapchat video earlier in the week.

Rocco - the son of the legendary singer and British film director Guy Ritchie, 48 - are currently enjoying a family ski holiday and looked smitten as they affectionately hugged each other on social media.

Taken in dim lighting, the brunette looked in a playful mood as she hugged a smiling Rocco.

The pair continued to shower each other with affection as they documented their fondness of each other in the video.

Kim is the daughter of painter and printmaker William Turnbull and has run in the same circle as Rocco ever since he moved back to London in December 2015.

Rocco, who now lives in London with his filmmaker father, is currently enjoying a skiing getaway in Verbier, Switzerland with Kim, as well as Madonna, siblings Lourdes, 20, David, 11, and Mercy, 10, and family friend, magician David Blaine.

Illusionist Blaine, 43, reportedly acted as an intermediary for Madonna, Rocco, and Guy Ritchie during the former couple's high profile custody battle earlier this year.

A source told the Daily Mirror back in April: 'Madonna and David have been friends for a long time and she’s reached out to him to speak to Rocco who thinks David is really cool. 

'David helped Rocco with work experience a few years ago so Rocco looks up to him.

'She hopes he can leave a good impression. She’s doing everything she can to win Rocco back.'

With the family situation now resolved, Rocco and Madonna couldn't have looked happier as they smiled for a group family snap during their winter getaway.

His girlfriend, who made her debut as a young model in the Maharishi show at the London Collections: Men AW15 last January, also couldn't resist documenting their travels on Instagram.

Kim shared a snap of Rocco, who was wrapped up warm, as he lounged on the ski slopes.

Rocco is no doubt enjoying his time of after reportedly landing himself a new job.

According to The Sun on Sunday, the teenager has started delivering take-away meals on bicycle for Deliveroo.

A source told the paper: 'It’s been a bit of a laugh for him and a way to placate his mum and dad until he works out what he wants to do.'

This comes after Rocco's arrest on suspicion of cannabis possession in September, when neighbours reportedly called the police on him in November. 

A police spokesperson also confirmed the news saying: 'A 16-year-old youth has been arrested for possession of cannabis. 

'The youth was taken to a north London police station. He was subsequently bailed and dealt with by Camden borough's Youth Offending Team. 

Rocco was searched by cops after he was seen sitting on a wall with a friend in Primrose Hill, where properties sell for around £1.9m.  

Madonna - who has recently reconnected with her son - has said publicly that she is supporting the teenager, releasing a statement in November, calling Rocco's legal troubles 'a family matter'.

'I love my son very much. I will do whatever I can to give him the support that he needs, and I ask that you respect our privacy at this time,' she said.
