Dog v. banana: Adorable dachshund goes ape for peeled yellow fruit as he shows off his super efficient eating technique

This is one dog who doesn't have to be told to eat healthy. 

The young fluffy blonde dachshund has developed an incredibly efficient banana eating technique by laying on his back on a white rug, wrapping his paws around the peeled fruit, and excitedly - and loudly - munching away.

The dog occasionally glances at the camera with his big expressive brown eyes, clearly happy to have discovered how to eat a banana with both his front paws busy.

The pup loudly munched and licked at the fruit and would occasionally eye the camera while his eyes were glazed with fruit euphoria

Its unclear where the cute video was filmed. 

Some commenters seemed concerned that the banana might make the pup sick, but various animal health sites said dogs are fine to eat bananas in moderation. 'Many veterinarians even recommend this potassium-rich fruit as a healthy alternative to fatty, salty treats,' said the American Kennel Club.

Bananas are even recommended if a dog has intestinal issues. Nor is there apparently any danger that the dog will start swinging from jungle vines.

The owner decided to take away the banana just as the pup was nearing the end
