Nicole Scherzinger has dismissed reports of a romantic connection with close friend French Montana following an appearance at the same Nevada nightspot on New Year’s Eve.

The former Pussycat Doll, 38, was linked with French after sources claimed they ‘couldn’t take their eyes off each other’ while ushering in 2017 at popular club Tao Las Vegas.

But Nicole, who is currently dating tennis player Grigor Dimitrov, has since insisted her relationship with the rapper, 32, is strictly platonic.

‘These claims are absurd,’ a spokesperson told MailOnline. ‘They have known each other for years and are friends.’

Sources previously insisted the singer enjoyed a tactile display with French, who as recently as November was dating Australian rapper Iggy Azalea, following his New Year's Eve performance at the nightspot.

'They were very affectionate and had their hands on each other’s legs,' a party-goer told People.

'They were hugging and couldn’t take their eyes off of each other all night.'

After keeping a low profile over social media during the Christmas period, Nicole returned to Instagram on Saturday by sharing a stunning bikini-clad selfie from a beach in Hawaii after flying to her birth-state from Nevada.

The singer went make-up free for the sun-drenched snap, showing off her natural beauty.

Nicole, who is without Grigor while she visits her family, swept her beachy brunette tresses to the side and let them cascade over her shoulders.
