Thanking her Lucky Stars! Madonna, 48, takes a nasty tumble on the slopes during intimate family ski trip to Switzerland... but luckily 'toyboy beau, 25,' misses embarrassing fall

She decided to ring in 2017 with a family ski trip, where she was joined by her sizeable brood and rumoured toyboy beau Aboubakar Soumahoro.

But Madonna's ski bunny experience did not get off to a smooth start as she took a terrific spill while hopping through the snow in Switzerland on Wednesday.

Despite the embarrassing slip-up, the 58-year-old appeared to avoid turning red-faced as her Harrods worker 'boyfriend', 25, was elsewhere in the resort, chatting intently to her son David.

Live To Tell... the tale: 2017 wasn't off to a great start for Madonna as she found herself landing face first on the slopes after taking a nasty looking tumble on Wednesday

As she whizzed down the slopes, the stunning star looked typically chic in a padded black coat and thick trousers, which undoubtedly carried a designer tag.

Zooming along, the songstress befell any skiers' woes as she stacked over and was spotted splayed out in the snow - yet showing her athletic prowess she quickly regained her composure.

Still in good spirits despite the embarrassing fall, it wasn't long before Madonna was back on her feet and ready to resume her holiday.

Away from the slopes, where she was joined by a bevy of trainers and aides, Aboubakar was joined by 11-year-old David who he chatted enthusiastically with.

Down she goes: After showing off her skills as she sped down the mountain, it all proved too much for the 58-year-old Causing a Commotion hitmaker as she lost her footing

Keep cozy like Madonna in a Moncler down coat

Madoona looked cozy and chic while skiing in Switzerland with her family during the Holiday break.

The busy mom-of-four looked stylish as usual even wrapped up in ski pants, a helmet and googles. She topped it all off with a Moncler Grenoble jacket that was previously spotted on Yolanda Hadid.

The down filled quilted number is made for snowy conditions so it's just right for a ski vacation, and the belted waist will flatter your figure whether you're hitting the slopes or the streets.

Cosy trip: She is believed to have started dating the model - who used to work in Harrods as a sales assistant - in November 2015

Thanking her Lucky Star: Luckily Madonna wasn't injured by the tumble

Snow joke: The star was nearly buried by the snowslide as she fell to the ground

Alongside David and Aboubakar, also staying with the star in Verbier is her four children: Lourdes, 20, Rocco, 16, and Mercy, 10.

Rounding off the group is Rocco's girlfriend, Kim Turbull, also 16, and family friend, magician David Blaine.

llusionist Blaine, 43, reportedly acted as an intermediary for Madonna, Rocco, and Guy Ritchie during the former couple's high profile custody battle earlier this year.

A source told the Daily Mirror back in April: 'Madonna and David have been friends for a long time and she’s reached out to him to speak to Rocco who thinks David is really cool... She hopes he can leave a good impression. She’s doing everything she can to win Rocco back.'

Trying to save it: She wasn't able to regain her balance after tilting too far forward

Slow: Her attempts to slow down proved to be fruitless as she hurtled down the slopes

New man: Madonna was joined on the outing by her rumoured boyfriend, 25-year-old model, Aboubakar Soumahoro

Back in March, it was reported that Madonna found love with hunky toyboy Aboubakar and the romance appears to be going from strength-to-strength as she was joined by the Harrods worker, 25, during the intimate ski trip.

Proving a gaping 33-year age gap is no preventative to a happy romance, Aboubakar chatted to her son David, 11, as they ventured off the slopes with the handsome model slotting perfectly into the family.

Early last year, sources close to Madonna told the Mirror that she has been spending a lot of time with her latest toyboy, who hails from the Ivory Coast.

Helping hand: Madonna was helped up by a fellow skier after the nasty tumble

Reaching out: Madonna grabbed onto the waiting hand for support

Righting herself: She also used her ski poles to help push herself up off the snow

The Swiss Family Robinson! Madonna and her children Lourdes, Rocco, David and Mercy have been joined on their festive ski trip by family friend David Blaine

The insiders claimed: 'They were at a party together back in November when they got chatting, and hit it off straight away. Over the next few weeks, they got together a couple more times and she invited him over to her place...

'They sat up all night talking. The next thing we heard, he had quit his job and had gone out to meet her on tour. It’s obviously a very close friendship.'

Now the romance appears to have hotted up as ten months after he was spotted on the ski trip, where he seemed to be getting along famously with her children, including David, who she shares with ex-husband Guy Ritchie.

Aboubakar looked extremely handsome in his ski gear, as he went for classic black in a padded jacket and gloves, while sporting cutting edge mirrored goggles.

Back at it: Still in good spirits despite the embarrassing fall, it wasn't long before Madonna was back on her feet and ready to resume her holiday

Two of a kind: The singer was held up as she prepared to hurtle back down the slopes again

Carry on regardless: Still in good spirits despite the embarrassing fall, it wasn't long before Madonna was back on her feet and ready to resume her holiday

Family affair: Madonna has also been joined on the trip by her four children
