Dangerous? The news follows an attack launched on Jonathan by David Weintraub (R) the friend of Celebrity Big Brother star Ray J - in response to Jonathan calling him a 'loser'

Feud: The insider revealed: 'It is believed members of Ray J's (above) management team have been making threats towards Jonathan which have been of a serious nature'

Not happy: The former talent agent also took to Twitter to publicly blast the star

The insider continued: 'It is believed members of Ray J's management team have been making threats towards Jonathan which have been of a serious nature, and have caused him to take the next steps to ensuring he is safe in the UK during the filming of the unnamed television program.'

The news is thought to be related to a written attack launched on Jonathan by David Weintraub, a close friend of current Celebrity Big Brother star Ray J - in response to Jonathan calling the singer a 'loser'.

The drama began when Jonathan confirmed he was not entering the Celebrity Big Brother house, writing on Twitter: 'As much as I love watching #CBB you couldn't pay me to ever go back in the CBB house! I'm a HUGE fan of the show from a distance.'

Extra protection: He was seen moving out of the Mandarin Oriental hotel into a private residence with a heavy security team - three months after BFF Kim Kardashian was attacked in Paris

He continued: 'Loads of rumors today..but I'm in the UK doing another TV show as planned for 2months, I'll be watching! Good luck to everyone in the house!'

It had been reported by The Sun that the star was dropped by CBB producers after hoping to secure £200,000 for the appearance - as well as 'gourmet prepared Michelin star meals, his own bedroom, a masseuse and access to a minder at all times.'

Yet, a spokesperson for the star later confirmed to MailOnline he was simply busy with other commitments.

Staying safe: His upping of security also comes in light of his best friend Kim Kardashian's attack in Paris back in October

However, producer Weintraub was later left unhappy when Jonathan called Ray J a 'loser' during the show's live launch on Tuesday.

He told MailOnline: 'Jonathan thinks he has a big voice on Twitter hiding behind his little phone trying to make people actually care what this little "hanger on" has to say.

'But I assure you it's going to be quite different if he tries to act like he's some big shot tough guy defending Kim Kardashian in the CBB house. I advise him to stay in his lane, Ray J and his team & associates are not anyone to play with.'

The former talent agent also took to Twitter to publicly blast the star, writing: '#JonathanCheban Like I said U PunkB***h We gon C U real soon u lil p***y SO watch UR f****n tongue B4 we snatch it out ur mouth CC @RayJ'

However, a source close to Jonathan told MailOnline: 'Jonathan has nothing to do with Ray J who he has no problems with. It is more the money he was requiring and the terms and conditions that weren’t met so he’s out.'

In defense of his damning tweet, Weintraub told MailOnline:'Words are words; if you want to act like a big boy and have a big voice just know that other people might not know your words and are going to put you in your [place].

'Ray J is one of my clients; we have five television shows and we’ve made millions of dollars together. He’s my brother, he’s my friend and he had no way to defend himself.

'Ray J has no idea in the world who Jonathan is. He's never seen him, never heard of him, never met him!'

Jonathan's upping of security also comes in light of his best friend Kim Kardashian's attack in Paris back in October.

The mother-of-two was bound, gagged and tied up on the floor of her bathroom in the luxury Hôtel de Pourtalès in Paris while her bodyguard protected her sisters in a nearby nightclub.

Sources have said she feared she would be raped as the gang of thieves stole gems worth £8.5million, including her £3.5m engagement ring.
