The freezing temperatures in New York City didn't deter many of the celebrities living in Manhattan from going outside to play in the snow.

Naomi Watts certainly took advantage of the icy conditions on Saturday and enjoyed the winter wonderland with her eight-year-old son Samuel.

The Australian actress, who is now based in New York, shared a cute photo in which she and Samuel were rugged up in coats and beanies as snowflakes fell on them.

Despite the cold they seemed overjoyed to be outside, with Naomi raising her hands in the air, possibly to feel the snowflakes, while her son beamed beside her.

The 48-year-old captioned the image, 'Happy for the snow today' and added cute snowman and snowflake emojis.

Naomi has been enjoying some much-needed downtime with her family over the recent festive season and even caught up with ex-partner Liev Schreiber, 49.

The former couple were seen with their nine-year-old son Alexander in New York on Christmas Day, enjoying a walk with their pet pooch.

Taking a leaf out of Naomi's book is fellow ex-pat Elyse Taylor, who also went out in the New York snow on Saturday.

The 30-year-old model took her daughter, Lila, who turns three in March, out to play despite the cold.

The stunning mum shared a photo to Instagram in which she walks hand in hand with Lila, who looked adorable in a pink ski jacket, through the icy street.

Just like Naomi she captioned the image 'Snow Day' and added a snowflake emoji.

The blonde is also raising her little girl as a single mum after splitting from her former husband Seth Campbell in May 2016, shortly after tying the knot in August 2014.
