The New Americana songstress shared a photo of herself in a hospital gown and hair cap, putting on a brave face and giving her fans - who she credits for giving her 'the strength and stamina' to power through the pain - a thumbs up.

'I'm in total agony right now.'

Among the sad news, she offered fellow victims of disease some hope: 'If you suffer from chronic pain or a debilitating disease please know that I have found time to live a crazy, wild, rewarding life AND balance my treatment and I hope so much in my heart that you can too.'

The New Jersey native explained that she will be laying low for a while.

'I'm gonna be off the map for a few days but please know even if I'm not on social media I am thinking of you.'

Angriest performance yet: Just a few hours after suffering a miscarriage, Halsey took the stage for Vevo LIFT. The performance was in 2015

A study by the European Society of Human Reproduction and Embryology found that women diagnosed with endometriosis have an increased risk of miscarriage.
