'I am in total agony:' Singer Halsey endures 'multiple surgeries' in one day as she talks about battling endometriosis
She's always been open and honest with her fans about her health issues.
And in a heartbreaking post, singer Halsey has revealed the pain she is dealing with after multiple 'terrifying' surgeries to battle her endometriosis.
Though the distressing disorder is relatively common in women aged 14-60 and can be as mild as menstrual irregularities, the 22-year-old has suffered an extremely bad case of it, leading to several hospitalizations.
#EndoWarrior: Halsey, 22, shared a heartbreaking post opening up about the multiple surgeries she's endured in one day to battle endometriosis
The New Americana songstress shared a photo of herself in a hospital gown and hair cap, putting on a brave face and giving her fans - who she credits for giving her 'the strength and stamina' to power through the pain - a thumbs up.
She penned: 'Today I braved multiple terrifying surgeries. The most important of which being the surgery that would hopefully treat my endometriosis.
'For those of you who have followed this battle of mine or who may suffer with it yourself, you know the extremes to which it can be mentally exhausting and physically painful...
Strong woman: Halsey revealed to Rolling Stone she had gotten pregnant on tour and suffered a miscarriage. She is pictured above in August 2016
Honest: Halsey has been open about her health issues, including a bipolar disorder diagnosis and a miscarriage
'I'm in total agony right now.'
Among the sad news, she offered fellow victims of disease some hope: 'If you suffer from chronic pain or a debilitating disease please know that I have found time to live a crazy, wild, rewarding life AND balance my treatment and I hope so much in my heart that you can too.'
The New Jersey native explained that she will be laying low for a while.
'I'm gonna be off the map for a few days but please know even if I'm not on social media I am thinking of you.'
Angriest performance yet: Just a few hours after suffering a miscarriage, Halsey took the stage for Vevo LIFT. The performance was in 2015
In July of 2016, Halsey revealed to Rolling Stone she had gotten pregnant on tour, suffered a miscarriage, and was coerced to perform just a few hours later.
Though the young lyricist blamed the tragic event on her 'lifestyle,' which landed her in the hospital every so often for exhaustion and dehydration due to being 'overworked,' that may not be the case.
A study by the European Society of Human Reproduction and Embryology found that women diagnosed with endometriosis have an increased risk of miscarriage.
