Not coming up roses? Carrie Underwood's pink floral Golden Globes gown receives mixed reaction as she hits the red carpet

You cannot please them all but this country singer's dress had fashion fans divided.

Carrie Underwood felt feminine and fun in a pink gown as she stepped onto the Golden Globes red carpet but not everyone was feeling the same way.

Can't miss her: Carrie Underwood's statement frock demanded attention as she made her way through the star-studded crowd at the Golden Globes in Beverly Hills, California, on Sunday

The country star told E! - who put her on its Worst Dressed List - that she picked out the pink frock the night before and was immediately drawn to it.

The dress featured sheer panels at her waistline and down the centre of her chest.

But making sure there was no missing her, or the frock, the top of the dress was covered in ruffles some of which were fashioned into roses.

The star - who was presenting at the Globes - accessorized the look with Yoko London drop pearl earrings, a matching ring and a large diamond ring.

As the dress was scene stealer, Carrie made sure to keep her hair and makeup simple yet sleek.

The Jesus Take The Wheel singer wore her blonde locks straitened and out with a subtle smokey eye shadow look and a dusty pink shimmering lipstick colour on her pout.

As the dress ensured that she was no wall flower, fashion fans immediately weighed in on social media.

While some praise the pink creation other's were less than impressed comparing it to luncheon meat and even women's private parts.

While another user @LittleMissLizz did not hold back: 'Carrie Underwood is dressed like an OBGYN's view of the examination table. #GoldenGlobes.'

Carrie has previously been nominated for a Golden Globe in 2011 for Best Original Song category for song There’s A Place For Us from The Chronicles Of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader.
