But singer and actress Janelle Monae proved she can add another equally impressive skill to her resume as she hit the red carpet at the Golden Globes on Sunday in Los Angeles.
The 31-year-old shined in a custom made Armani gown, which she worked on with her personal stylist.

Monae's film Moonlight is nominated for six awards at the show and her other film Hidden Figures us up for two.
On the red carpet the singer said: 'I just feel so proud to be a part of telling these stories about inclusion.
'Hidden Figures and Moonlight are at the forefront of telling these stories,' she added.

'I wanted the opportunity to tell these unforgettable stories through music and movies,' she continued.
When asked what she was wearing, she said: 'I'm in a custom Armani. I worked on it with my stylist and I couldn't be more proud.'
She added that her bling was by Forevermark.

In the film, Taraji plays Katherine G. Johnson, the woman who formed a powerful trio of 'human computers' with colleagues Dorothy Vaughan (played by Octavia) and Mary Jackson (played by Janelle) that helped propel the space program's first-ever orbit around earth by astronaut John Glenn and his crew on February 20, 1962.
It tells the story of the trio overcoming major societal obstacles - linked to racism, sexism and workplace politics - in becoming a difference-maker in NASA history during a time the Unites States and Russia were racing to set the historic precedent.
