Still smiling! Mariah Carey and toyboy beau Bryan Tanaka enjoy a romantic dinner together, as she recovers from THAT New Year's performance

She's had a tumultuous few weeks after a disastrous New Year's Eve performance and the announcement she'd be taking 'a break' from social media.

But Mariah Carey seems to have bounced back as she headed out for a dinner date with her toyboy beau Bryan Tanaka on Monday.

The diva smiled broadly as she emerged from a sushi restaurant in Malibu sporting a clinging white top, jeans and white knee-high boots.

Looking casual in a pair of red jeans and a navy blue sweatshirt, Bryan, 33, led the way out of the restaurant with Mariah in tow.

The pair have become inseparable after getting together following Mariah's breakup with millionaire businessman James Packer.

The pair have since been spotted on endless dates together, and were even seen packing on the PDA during a romantic break in Hawaii in November - just weeks after her split from James.

Happy together: Mariah followed Bryan out of the eatery with a male companion

Bryan, who heavily features on the singer's reality show Mariah's World, has been on hand to give her some moral support following her disastrous New Year's Eve performance in New York City.

The Emotions singer has been low-key following the performance in Times Square where she was caught stumbling through her repertoire, dancing lazily, and even lip syncing at moments.

And Mariah declared she'd be taking a break from 'media moments'  following the televised show.

'I'm gonna take a break from media moments, social media moments,' she announced in an audio clip posted on Twitter.

Glittering: Mariah carried a dazzling purse and sported a one-sleeved white top and jeans

'Although I am going to fulfil my professional obligations, this is an important time for me to finally take a moment for myself and to deal with my loved ones and to prepare for my upcoming tour in March… I can’t wait to sing for you again.'

She shared a few more feelings about the much discussed performance, appearing to blame the production team for the technical issues.

She said: 'Listen guys, they foiled me. Thus, it turned into an opportunity to humiliate me and all those who were excited to ring in the new year with me. I cannot deny that my feelings are hurt, but I’m working through this and I’m truly grateful for my fans and my true friends who have been so supportive in this time.'

However, the production company has since hit back, telling People in a statement:

'To suggest that [Dick Clark Productions] … would ever intentionally compromise the success of any artist is defamatory, outrageous and frankly absurd.'

All that glitters: Mariah's televised performance on New Year's Eve hit the headlines
