The new Goldwyn mayor! Taylor Swift seeks to have movie mogul's mansion designated historic landmark as she carries out renovation 

It is her own personal piece of Hollywood history.

And it seems Taylor Swift wants to ensure future generations can enjoy seeing legendary movie mogul Samuel Goldwyn's mansion after it emerged she is trying to have it designated an historic landmark.

The Shake It Off beauty purchased the Beverly Hills property for a cut price $25million back in 2015, and has been working to renovate the home.

The Samuel Goldwyn Estate was first listed for $24 million in 2008, and came back onto the market for an eye-watering $39 million following the death of the mogul's son Samuel Goldwyn Jr in 2015.

It sits on the city's exclusive Laurel Lane, and was built by the movie magnate away back in 1934.

According to the Beverly Hills Courier the city's Cultural Heritage Commission will hear her application to turn it into a Local Historic Landmark on Wednesday.

As a surely unintended side benefit, if it qualifies she will be able to apply for tax relief, which the city gives in exchange for maintenance or restorations to such properties.

As well as its historical value, there are plenty other attractive features to the property, which sits on almost two acres of prime real estate, that doubtlessly caught Taylor's eye..

It comes with a main house just shy of 11,000-square-feet main house with six bedrooms and at least five bathrooms.

It also gas a two room guest apartment above the garage.

There are also spectacular gardens, a swimming pool and even a pool house with kitchenette.

Taylor can also unleash her inner Margaret Court by playing on the sunken tennis court, or even grab a pair of binoculars and spy on guests having a game from the mansion above.

The singer, who has an estimated net worth of $250 million, is said to have a property portfolio worth more than $70 million, including homes in Nashville, another house in Beverly Hills and a New York penthouse previously owned by Lord of the Rings director Peter Jackson.

Samuel Goldwyn, who changed his surname from Goldifsh, is one of Hollywood's greatest executives.

 A Polish Jew who left the country penniless, he made his way to the States via the UK, he became a key staff member at Paramount Pictures, before establishing Goldwyn Pictures in 1916.

In 1924 it was taken over by Marcus Loew and merged into his Metro Pictures Corporation with the company being renamed Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer.

However he did not stay with the company, and established the production company Samuel Goldwyn Productions.

His quality first approach saw the company received Oscar nominations for Arrowsmith, Dodsworth, Dead End, Wuthering Heights, and The Little Foxes before he finally he won best picture for The Best Years of Our Lives in 1946.
