She's known for looking polished to perfection on the red carpet.

But Catherine Zeta-Jones proved she could nail off-duty chic just as easily, as she stepped out in a stunning 70s-inspired ensemble on Tuesday.

The 47-year-old actress looked incredible in a grey suede fedora and billowing tweed coat as she strutted her way through JFK airport in New York.

Seventies chic: Catherine Zeta-Jones proved she could nail off-duty chic just as easily, as she stepped out in a stunning ensemble on Tuesday in New York

The Ocean's Twelve star played with proportions thanks to some flared olive-hued culottes, which she teamed with a silky, slightly unbuttoned shirt.

With her raven tresses styled in glossy waves, the mother-of-two rocked a burgundy lipstick as she hid her pretty features behind oversized shades.

Adding a dose of luxury with her accessories, the brunette beauty rocked a tan leather Hermes Birkin tote and added height with some suede lace-up booties.

Put your best foot forward in Catherine's Prada boots

Chic, chic, chic, chic.

Catherine Zeta Jones arrived in New York City today in true Hollywood fashion wearing oversized sunnies and a glamorous earthy-toned ensemble.

She paired some olive colored culottes with a rusty blouse tucked in that matched her pair of to-die-for lace up boots by Prada.

These chunky heeled beauties are a statement piece thanks to their red-laces punctuated by silver eyelets running up the shaft of the boots.

Sadly, Catherine's heels come with a hefty $1600 price tag. But if you're looking to give yourself the ultimate treat this season then hot foot on over to Barneys (click right) to snag yourself a pair.

Catherine seemed well-rested after the flight, and seemed to have been enjoying a winter break in the snowy mountains.

The Terminal star shared a snap of her posing against an alpine backdrop on Instagram, captioning the shot: 'Wearing my 'princess beanie' in the middle of nowhere to alert the bears!

She also paid tribute to late musical legend David Bowie in another snap, as she posed in a T-shirt emblazoned with his figure.

Marking the anniversary of his death, the actress captioned the snap: 'Bowie+Rocks. Missed but never forgotten.'

'My beautiful boy': She posed up to her 16-year-old son Dylan in a cute family snap

Catherine's trip comes after the normally private celebrity shared Christmas photos of herself with her husband of 16 years, Michael Douglas, 72, as well as their two children Dylan, 16, and Carys, 13.

In one image, the family of four is crashed out on their sofa. Catherine is leaning on Dylan and Carys is snuggled up to Michael. The caption reads: 'Totally laid back.'

She and husband Michael own property in New York City,  Bermuda and Majorca.

Catherine and Michael wed in 2000 in New York City in an enormous ceremony at The Plaza. In 2013 they split but got back together the following year.

Meanwhile Michael recently revealed that he almost put an end to his relationship with Catherine Zeta Jones, 47, before it'd begun, as he scared her off with a cringe-worthy chat up line.

Speaking on the Jonathan Ross Show in November, the Oscar winner confessed that his chat up line left a lot to be desired as he told her: 'You know, I'm going to be the father of your children.'

Happy: Catherine and Michael wed in 2000 in New York City in an enormous ceremony at The Plaza. In 2013 they split but got back together the following year

Setting the scenes of their first meeting at the Deauville Film Festival, he explained that after asking his publicist to set up a meeting, he greeted the star at a bar.

After just a few minutes of chatting, Michael surprised Catherine by coming out with: 'You know, I'm going to be the father of your children,' which he claimed 'sounded good'.

But his comments were somewhat ill-advised as he revealed she said 'I've heard a lot about you and I've seen a lot about you and I think it's time that I said goodnight.''

Dismayed, he recalled: 'So I thought 'I've totally blew it.' She was gone early the next morning and she went to [Scotland]. I thought it's all gone I've just destroyed it.'

But luckily, he was able to win the star round as he explained he sought out some roses to send to her along with a touching apology note.
