She's had a difficult decade filled with family tragedy and career lows.

Having announced the procedure on Monday's episode of the chat show, Linda spoke to the Loose Women panel live from the Harley Street skin clinic, where she would be having the surgery.

She was seen with lines drawn across her face, being looked over by the plastic surgeon ahead of the operation.

'I feel like a clown!' she joked, of the markings on her face.

Linda - whose sister Coleen is a regular Loose Women panelist but is currently residing inside the Celebrity Big Brother house - reported back to the studio that her 4-5 hour surgery will take place on Wednesday afternoon.

Up close and personal: Having announced the procedure on Monday's episode of the chat show, Linda spoke to the Loose Women panel live from the Harley Street skin clinic, where she would be having the surgery

The musical theatre actress will be awake during the operation as she feels it will be safer, she explained; on top of this, she won’t have to stay in hospital overnight. She will be supported by her sister-in-law Annie.

Linda asked the doctor what she'll look like when the bandages come off.

‘There will be some swelling. You'll be red and bruised but will have a good idea of what you will look like when that settles,' the surgeon advised. 'It will take a couple of months to settle down.'

Linda admitted she was scared and predicted that Coleen wouldn't approve.

Nip/Tuck: Loose Women host Linda Robson asked if Linda was concerned about the risks, and asked if it brought back memories of her previous breast cancer surgery

'She'll worry at first but she has always said she just wants me to be happy,' she said.

Loose Women host Linda Robson asked if Linda was concerned about the risks, and asked if it brought back memories of her previous breast cancer surgery.

'I had to have that surgery before, I had no choice. It was life saving,' she said. 'But this is just for me. I'm still scared though.'

She added: 'It will take four hours and I'll be awake throughout it. If they hurt me I will know about it.'

Turning back the clock: Linda said that while she's not afraid of the ageing process, she wants to 'not see a sad person' without make-up and lose her 'smoking lines'

Linda said, earlier in the week, that that Coleen will 'kill her' when she finds out what she is doing; but that her late husband Brian and sister Bernie would tell her to go for it.

Brian passed away in 2008, while Bernie died in 2013 - both had battles with cancer.

Linda said that she felt suicidal for years following the death of her husband when she was aged 47.

Candid: She said: 'It will take four hours and I'll be awake throughout it. If they hurt me they will know about it'

But she said she is now feeling more positive and has an acceptance about things.

She said: 'I had the love of my life for 27 years and most people don't get that. It's taken me this long to realise it's okay to be happy again. I used to feel guilty for smiling.'

Linda also revealed she had recently had her first kiss since Brian had died.

She said: 'It was a friend who I knew 40 years ago - and at the end of the night, it just happened.

She'll understand: She said that CBB star Coleen will 'kill her' when she finds out what she is doing

Linda No-lines: She was seen with lines drawn across her face, being looked over by the plastic surgeon ahead of the operation

'He asked me to go to his hotel room but I'm not that type of girl and I was sat on the tube and I didn't feel guilty.'

Linda said that while she's not afraid of the ageing process, she wants to 'not see a sad person' without make-up and lose her 'smoking lines'.

'Coleen will kill me,' she said. 'I've planned it so she won't be there. Hopefully she will be in long enough so that I will have recovered by the time she sees me.'

And talking about her new outlook, she said she's so glad she never went through with suicide.

Scared: Linda asked the doctor what she'll look like when the bandages come off

What next? ‘There will be some swelling. You'll be red and bruised but will have a good idea of what you will look like when that settles,' the surgeon advised. 'It will take a couple of months to settle down'

'I even wrote the letter to my family,' she said. 'I wrote that I'm sure they didn't expect me to last this long.

'But if you feel like that, get help because it's out there. There's so much to live for.'

Last week, the songstress candidly revealed the devastation she feels when looking in the mirror - admitting she feels 'old, worn and drained and just so, so sad' - leading to her decision to go under the knife.

Let's hope so: She said her late husband Brian and sister Bernie would tell her to 'go for it' and get the face lift

Under the knife: Linda Nolan first revealed her plans to undergo a facelift at the age of 57 during an interview with Lorraine last week

Linda and her sisters Anne, Denise, Maureen, Bernie and Coleen soared to fame in the Seventies, with their wildly popular girl group The Nolans.

The group disbanded in 2005. In 2013, Bernie tragically passed away when she lost her battle with breast cancer while Linda was previously devastated in 2007 when her husband of 26 years, Brian Hudson, died after being diagnosed with skin cancer.

A decade later, the singing superstar revealed she feels grief has ravaged her face, leaving to her seeing a visage marred with sadness whenever she looks in the mirror.

In a bid to change the face she sees, Linda has opted to undergo a laser facelift, a less invasive procedure than a surgery which cuts the skin, after seeing an array of consultants and finally opting to go ahead with the work.

The girl group: Linda (far left) laid her plans bare, before admitting she is going ahead with the procedure without telling her sister Coleen (second left) due to her sibling's staunch anti-surgery attitude (pictured with sisters Maureen and Bernie (second right, right)

Big secrets: Linda has refused to tell her sister the news of her surgery

Younger days: Coleen's strong opinions on the subject are undoubtedly the reason Linda opted to keep her out of the loop before her surgery

Coleen's famously strong opinions against the subject are undoubtedly the reason Linda opted to keep her out of the loop before her surgery.

Linda, who starred in CBB in January 2014, waited until her younger sister, 51, headed into the house earlier this week to go public with news of her surgery - a move which will no doubt astound Coleen when she leaves the show.
