Royal enthusiasts have flocked to Surfer's Paradise to catch a glimpse, and take a selfie, with the Queen's granddaughter Zara Phillips.

The accomplished equestrian is on the Gold Coast to take part in the Magic Millions Polo event, that on Sunday saw her take a tumble from her horse mid-way through the competition.

But proving her ability to bounce back, the daughter of Princess Anne got back on the horse, in every sense of the word, and on Tuesday spent time with fans on the beach for the Magic Millions Barrier Draw.

When she wasn't taking selfies Zara met her six-year-old namesake, named after her.

The Magic Millions Barrier Draw, which commenced at 6am, saw several thoroughbreds with champion jockeys gallop down the beach in a breathtaking spectacle.

The appearance came two days after Zara took a tumble, falling off her horse mid polo match.

But any fears of injury were quickly dispelled by her husband, who took over the loudspeaker at the event to reassure the crowds his wife was okay.

'That's her will to win. She's tough, she bounces,' Mike said.

Zara and Mike's appearance at the Magic Millions Polo event on Sunday was their first since news broke of the couple's devastating miscarriage

Zara was believed to be four months pregnant when a royal spokesperson announced her miscarriage on Christmas Eve

The Polo was the couple's first public appearance together since they announced they had suffered a devastating miscarriage.

A royal spokeswoman for Zara and Mike announced on Christmas Eve they had lost their unborn baby, just weeks after they revealed they were expecting their second child.

It is thought Zara, 35, would have been about four-months pregnant, and the baby was expected to arrive in late Spring.

The couple have one daughter, Mia, who was born in January of 2014.

The Magic Millions event includes polo matches and races, with Zara a patron of Magic Millions Racing Women.
