Perhaps the Knicks were hoping to use the Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon to track down Derrick Rose but, even without their star player, the New York team attracted a big celebrity crowd.

Kevin Bacon and daughter Sosie watched on as they Knicks tried unsuccessfully to overcome a bizarre evening and hold back the New Orleans Pelicans.

The father daughter duo were joined courtside in New York on Monday night by Norman Reedus.

Despite the strong celebrity support, the Knicks were defeated by the New Orleans team 110 to 96.

The Knicks did not have a smooth start to game day with player Derrick Rose going AWOL.

The team was unable to find the star but the player reportedly later reached out to team officials to say he had flown to Chicago after a family emergency. 

The nature of the emergency or what this means with Derrick's future with the Knicks has yet to be confirmed.
