Perrie Edwards confirms romance with footballer Alex Oxlade- Chamberlain as she shares sweet snap of the Arsenal hunk and their pet pooches

They've been rumoured to be dating for months.

But Perrie Edwards appeared to confirm her relationship with Arsenal player Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain as she shared a snap of the star on Instagram on Tuesday.

Captioned with a love heart eyed emoji, the 23-year-old's snap saw the footballer beaming as he sat at the dinner table.

Adding to the cuteness, both Perrie's pet Pomeranian and Alex's Labrador Retriever were cuddled up in the snap as they looked up at the camera. 

Perrie's Little Mix bandmate Jesy Nelson was clearly a fan of the snap, commenting 'Oh I see' with a love heart eyed emoji. 

MailOnline have contacted Perrie's representatives for comment.

Last week, Perrie followed her new 'boyfriend' on Instagram - in a resounding statement regarding their relationship.

The Little Mix songstress was first linked to the Arsenal star, also 23, in November, after which they have both been spotted supporting each other in their respective talents.

Perrie suffered a well-documented break-up from her former One Direction star fiancé Zayn Malik in August 2015 after which she was linked to Luke Pasqualino late last year.

Yet after her brief dalliance with the Skins star fizzled-out, reports surfaced of her and Alex's relationship, after she was allegedly seen watching him play at the Emirates Stadium. 

Soon after, Alex was reportedly in the crowd at The X Factor final last month, where he was said to be enthusiastically bopping along to Little Mix's raunchy performance. 

News of the Instagram follow comes after one of Zayn's younger cousins, Sasha Malik, admitted to being a fan of Little Mix's hit Shout Out To My Ex - a song which appears to take a swipe at the former 1D star's sexual prowess.

Earlier this week, Sasha raised eyebrows when she tweeted lyrics from the song, before quickly deleting them on realising the controversy.

However, by Monday she was soon defending her appreciation for the song, stating on the micro-blogging site: 'The fact that the song is about Zayn doesn't cross my mind when I listen to it. To me, it's just a song.

'However, I will not hate on a person for having a past with a relative of mine. Both of them have now moved on. The world should too.'

And, in a move to show that her actions were not intended to be malicious, she added: 'Apologies to those genuinely offended by my tweet, I understand that it easily misunderstood, so shade though, ever.'

Over the past several months, there has been endless speculation that Perrie has taken swipes at her heart-throb ex in new Little Mix tracks.

However, Shout Out To My Ex garnered much attention, thanks to lyrics about a former boyfriend who's with 'some other chick'. 

'I hope she getting better sex, Hope she ain't faking it like I did, babe,' the lyrics tellingly continued.

Zayn has found love with model Gigi Hadid, 21, since calling off his engagement to Perrie in August 2015.

Meanwhile sources tell the Mirror of Perrie and Alex's relationship: 'Things are hotting up between the pair – they love spending time with each other and make each other laugh a lot.

'Perrie has bought her family and friends Arsenal merchandise for Christmas – it shows how much she thinks of him.'
