Justin Theroux reveals he left the Golden Globes early so he could watch it on TV with Jennifer Aniston in pajamas
Justin Theroux left the Golden Globes as early as he could - so he could watch it on TV with his wife.
The 45-year-old actor was one of the presenters at the ceremony on Sunday but was keen to get away from the Beverly Hilton hotel as soon as possible in order to join Jennifer Aniston and their friends for a viewing party in their pajamas.
Speaking to Entertainment Tonight at HBO's Globes afterparty, he said: 'I'm actually trying to get home.'
Pajama party! Justin Theroux told ET on Sunday that he was rushing home to watch the end of the ceremony with wife Jennifer Aniston and friends in pajamas; pictured together last January
The Leftovers actor said: 'I almost skipped this interview because I got my girl and some friends in their pajamas who have delayed the show an hour so I can get back and watch the end of it with them.'
He admitted it was a very strange experience skipping the red carpet and just arriving for his spot instead of sitting and watching the ceremony as a guest.
'It's the first time I've come to the show and have not done the red carpet,' the actor revealed.
Different experience: The 45-year-old actor also told the outlet that it was his first time coming to the show and skipping the carpet
Adding: 'I just came to present, so I kind of did the dumb thing where I just showed up to present, and you kind of get rushed into the back door.'
He also commented that the 'energy' of the room took him by surprise when he stepped on stage alongside Anna Kendrick.
'And you're not really prepared for the size of the event, and all the energy in the room,' Justin said.
Presenters: The Leftovers actor went to the awards show solely to present; he and Anna Kendrick presented The Night Manager star Tom Hiddleston with Best Actor in a TV series
Justin and Anna both presented The Night Manager star Tom Hiddleston with Best Actor in a TV series.
He added: 'So I kind of came in and was not prepared. There's a benefit to walking and sitting down, having some food, and then continuing on.'
Jennifer and Justin began dating in May 2011, got engaged just over a year later and tied the knot at their Bel-Air estate in August 2015.
Dedicated: He said Jennifer, 47, had delayed the show an hour in order for Justin to make it back on time to watch
