Jude Law steps out on promotional trail for The Young Pope in New York... as he's left red-faced by 'eligible bachelor' gaffe despite being in a long-term relationship

He's very private when it comes to his relationship with psychologist Phillipa Coan, 30, who he started dating over a year ago. 

So much so, that it seems like not everyone is aware that Jude Law is in a relationship which was evident as he was interviewed on CBS This Morning on Wednesday.  

The actor, 44, who is on the promotional trail for the HBO drama The Young Pope, was left red-faced after the show's host Gayle King pointed out he was named as one of the most eligible bachelors in Town and Country magazine.

Clad in a comfortable ensemble, comprising off a black bomber, loose trousers and bulky grey scarf, the British actor seemed in great spirits as he left the venue, despite the on-air blunder. 

When he was revealed as being in the countdown of the most hunkiest single men, Jude blushed, stating: 'I'm in a long-term relationship. I'm surprised I'm on that.'

Doing his best to keep tight-lipped on his relationship, Gayle ended the interview by stating: 'Well it's not a bad list to be on,' to which he agreed. 

Speaking about his relationship previously to Modern Luxury, Jude revealed: ‘She’s mine and no one else’s. ‘I’m very, very happy. A large part of that is the fact that she’s a very private person.

'And our relationship is a very private thing, and I think part of the fact it works so well is exactly because of that.’

Meanwhile, Jude had a quick outfit change as he made his way to The Late Show with Stephen Colbert for another TV appearance to discuss his show. 

The hunk takes on the role of Lenny Belardo, an illiberal orphan who works his way to the highest echelons of the Vatican in HBO drama The Young Pope. 

Looking much more put together in a forest-green suede bomber jacket and harem style pants, Jude looked relaxed and happy as he spent time away from Phillipa. 

The desire to protect his relationship with Phillipa comes following a six-year marriage to actress Sadie Frost, with whom he shares three children, and a short-lived engagement to Sienna Miller.

There have also been additions to Law's growing family, with Samantha Burke giving birth to the actor's fourth child, Sophia, in 2009 and singer Catherine Harding welcoming daughter Ava, his fifth, last March. 

It was also claimed his eldest daughter Iris, 16, may be following in her mother Sadie Frost's footsteps in September last year when she was said to be on the verge of signing a lucrative deal with Chanel.

A source close to the teenager claimed : 'Iris has been courted by a big fashion house in Paris offering a six-figure contract.

Before the insider added: 'Sadie isn't stupid. She's been a model herself and knows her daughter could make a lot of money.'

The exciting venture would further enhance her blossoming modelling career - with the young beauty appearing in Teen Vogue last August.

Iris had revealed in the interview to accompany her shoot, which saw her wow in a vintage Coach dress, that she had gained her creative flair and interest in fashion from her model mother, Sadie Frost.

She explained: 'I like looking at pictures of my mum when she was around my age and seeing her makeup and little dresses.

'I was always really interested in what she was wearing growing up, and did quite creative things with how I dressed myself.'

Style clearly runs in the Law genes however - as Iris' older brother Rafferty, 20, was named one of GQ's 50 Best Dressed British Men in 2015.
