It's complicated! La La Land director Damien Chazelle gave ex-wife producer credit on acclaimed musical which his girlfriend has a role in

Damien Chazelle's girlfriend Olivia Hamilton plays Bree the Gluten Free Girl in his hit musical La La Land, which swept the Golden Globe awards on Sunday.

But that didn't stop the director from giving an executive producer credit on the Emma Stone and Ryan Gosling love story to his ex-wife Jasmine McGlade, 31.

That's because Damien, also 31, felt he wanted to 'acknowledge [her] collaborations over the years,' according to Variety.

The new one: Damien Chazelle's girlfriend Olivia Hamilton plays Bree the Gluten Free Girl in his hit musical La La Land, which swept the Golden Globe awards on Sunday (pictured)

... And the ex: But that didn't stop the director from giving an executive producer credit on the Emma Stone and Ryan Gosling love story to his ex-wife Jasmine McGlade, 31. Here they are seen at the Academy Awards in 2015

The site added that her credit was not on early screenings, but was tacked onto the film by the time it was released in theaters.

The director met Jasmine when they were studying at Harvard. They wed in 2010 but then split in 2014.

Jasmine collaborated with Damien on several projects, including Whiplash.

They all went home with awards: Not only did his starving artists saga get Best Comedy Or Musical and Chazelle won Best Screenplay and Song (City Of Stars), but the film's stars Emma Stone and Ryan Gosling were also awarded on Globe night

Reach for the stars in a Valentino gown like Emma's

Emma Stone looks la la lovely as per usual on the Golden Globes red carpet.

She opted for a custom made Valentino number that quite literally matched her brilliant star-power with its shiny cosmo embellishments throughout.

We love the delicate straps and plunging neckline done in soft pink pleats for a look that is ladylike, feminine and sexy all at once.

The gossamer thin fabric is dreamy and swoon worthy which is why we think Emma Stone might be in top running for our red carpet favorite.

Sadly, her dress was a bespoke piece by the Italian designer so we won't be able to get our hands on the exact one. That's why we've rounded up the next best thing in our edit below. From Needle & Thread to Alexis and Adrianna Papell, we've got all budgets covered! Or you could hire this Marchesa Notte dress from Rent The Runway!

His new love Hamilton was by the director's side on Sunday when he picked up the Golden Globe for Best Musical Or Comedy, Best Screenplay and Best Song (City Of Stars).

But she didn't get her start as an actress.

The blonde beauty is a former McKinsey & Company consultant and a graduate of Princeton University.

Hand-in-hand: The beauty and the director looked in love during the evening at the Beverly Hilton Hotel

The team: (from left) Hamilton, Chazelle, John Legend, producer Marc Platt, lyricist Benj Pasek, composer Justin Hurwitz, lyricist Justin Paul and Asher Fogle Paul

She received a bachelor's degree in economics and finance.

The brainy looker started dating Damien in 2015. It is likely they met on the set of La La Land.

Chazelle not only posed with Olivia on the red carpet, he also hugged her when he won Best Screenplay.

His #1 gal: Though Damien posed with both is old and new love at the Globes, it was Olivia who he hugged when he won Best Screenplay

Oops: Stone looked embarrassed when she went in to hug the director and he instead went for Olivia

La La Land star Stone (who also won for Best Actress for La La Land) looked embarrassed when she went in to hug the director and he instead went for Olivia.

This is the first time such a big spotlight has been put on Chazelle.

Next for Damien is First Man with Ryan about astronaut Neil Armstrong and the legendary space mission that led him to become the first man to walk on the moon. It's based on the book First Man: The Life of Neil A. Armstrong.
