PICTURE EXCLUSIVE: Amal Clooney covers up in a loose sweater as she links arms with husband George for a romantic countryside stroll... after debate over her 'pregnancy'

On Wednesday's instalment of Good Morning Britain, Piers Morgan and his co-host Susanna Reid were seen questioning whether or not Amal Clooney is pregnant.

And a day earlier, the 38-year-old human rights lawyer did little to quell the speculation as she wrapped up in a loose-fitting cream sweater for a romantic countryside stroll with her Hollywood actor husband George Clooney, 55.

Amal cut a chic figure for the couple's relaxed walk near their riverside Berkshire home as she draped a green jacket over her top, which she teamed with grey cigarette cut trousers, tucked into a pair of knee-high brown boots.

Romantic stroll: George Clooney and his wife Amal were spotted going for a romantic stroll near their Berkshire home on Tuesday afternoon

With a black slouched beanie atop her wavy brown tresses, she appeared to be wearing minimal makeup for the leisurely excursion, letting her natural beauty shine through.

American superstar George looked every inch the british gentleman as he donned a tweed hat with a grey scarf, tucked neatly under a double breasted black coat.

Rounding out his casual ensemble with loose-fitting blue jeans and pair of rugged brown boots, the screen star was engrossed in conversation with his wife of two years as they meandered through lush open greenery and winding roads.

We're more used to seeing her all suited and booted or dressed to the nines on the red carpet, so it was good to see Amal Clooney enjoying some down time with husband George.

They were spotted out for a stroll and of course Amal looked the epitome of countryside chic. She teamed a pair of skinny jeans with a cream cowl neck cable knit jumper, a khaki jacket and these knee high leather boots, which you might just recognize.

They're a version of the Penelope Chilvers boots that the Duchess of Cambridge has worn on so many occasions, only with the addition of a cute tassel trim. We love zip down the outside, as well as the distinctive scalloped detail. They're the perfect way to dress practically without compromising on style, so click (right) to buy the original version now.

'I don't think Amal would do that,' continued Susanna.

MailOnline has contacted a spokesperson for Amal for comment.

The speculation came after the Clooneys stepped out on Monday night with Amal sporting a beautiful floaty floral dress at a screening of new film The White Helmets.

'In the United States, in our Constitution, it doesn't guarantee political parties, it doesn't guarantee much, it doesn't guarantee journalism...

'[President] Jefferson talked about whether [he would choose] a government without free press or a free press without a government, he'd take a free press without a government. It was that important. It is the Fourth Estate for a reason.

'It watches over these other branches... The reality is that bad things happen when you have the lights turned off. You have to have the lights on. You have to be able to see what's going on, and if you can't...

'All around the world, you turn the lights out and you don't see what's happening - that's what the bad guys want. They want to be able to act when you can't see.

'When you turn the lights on and you put the camera out there and you get in the faces of all of this and show what it really is and show that these are human beings, these aren't just names and numbers and statistics.

'These are actual human beings who are suffering and living and surviving and caring for one another.

'Then what you're doing is spectacular and is so important and is the frontline of what we all consider the most important job in the world. So thank you for what you do.'

The movie, directed by Orlando von Einsiedel is out now.

Talking at a reception after the screening, George said on freedom of press: 'In the United States, in our Constitution, it doesn't guarantee political parties, it doesn't guarantee much, it doesn't guarantee journalism...'
