With a little help from her friends: John Lennon's son Sean attends fellow Beatles baby Stella McCartney's fashion launch in New York

Their fathers were one of the most iconic song-writing duos in the history of music.

And it seems that the friendship which propelled The Beatles into legendary status has been passed down a generation, as Sean Lennon supported Stella McCartney at the launch of her new clothing line.

The two Beatles offspring were all smiles as they cosied up at the event, held at New York's Cotton Club on Tuesday to celebrate the launch of Stella's Fall 2017 line.

Almost 50 years after their fathers' iconic group disbanded, Sir Paul and John's two off-spring came together at the star-studded event.

And, while their fathers may have suffered a famous falling out, it seems that both Stella, 45, and Sean, 41, are firm friends - as they were seen cosying up for snaps at the bash. 

Sean - the son of the iconic singer and Yoko Ono - cut a distinctive figure upon arrival, dressed in a long charcoal great coat, jeans and boots.

Keeping his long dark hair under control, the singer/song-writer wore a wide-brimmed fedora on his head.

Sean's artistic and beatnik-inspired look was finished off by a bushy beard.

The woman of the moment, Stella - who is Sir Paul's youngest daughter from his marriage to first wife Linda - looked nothing less-than chic and stylish.

Opting for a quirky fringed midi dress, which featured an asymmetrical hem, Stella showed off her unique fashion sense as well as a hint of leg. 

Teaming the dress with a pair of towering black stilettos, the acclaimed fashion designer 

She rounded her look off in simple and stylish manner, adding a black handbag to the mix.

Wearing her long auburn hair in gentle waves down past her shoulders, the fashionista allowed her flame-coloured locks to frame her striking alabaster features.

Sean was also in good company on the night, as the producer and musician was accompanied by his stunning girlfriend, Kemp Muhl, 29.
