Drake paid tribute to President Barack Obama by sharing a bizarre meme of the Canadian rapper's face mixed with the president's.

He shared the picture on his Instagram Tuesday night following the outgoing president's emotional farewell address to the nation from Chicago.

The Photoshopped image shows Obama standing at a podium, but sporting Drake's signature beard and hairdo.

In the caption Drake wrote: 'As a Canadian that calls America home for part of the year I will always carry your words and the memory of your time in office with me as inspiration. Big up yaself O.'

The picture is one of a number of internet memes featuring Drake.

The rapper poked fun at the jokes on 'Saturday Night Live' last year by rapping, 'How can I explain to my mama/When you got my beard on Obama?' And this isn't the first time Drake spoke highly of the president.

In 2012, Drake said: 'I hope somebody makes a movie about Obama's life soon because I could play him.'

'That's the goal. I watch all the addresses. Anytime I see him on TV, I don't change the channel.

'I definitely pay attention and listen to the inflections of his voice. If you ask anyone who knows me, I'm pretty good at impressions.'

But Obama, who is known for his impeccable taste in music, talked about his preference for Kendrick Lamar over Drake in an interview last year with YouTube star Swoozie

'Gotta go with Kendrick,' Obama said. 'I think Drake is an outstanding entertainer, but Kendrick — his lyrics, his last album was outstanding. Best album, I think, last year.'

'I love Drake, and the girls love Drake, and, you know, so, he’s commercially just doing great, and unbelievably talented,' Obama added.

Drake wasn't the only celebrity gushing with heartfelt tributes after the president's historical farewell speech. Several stars took to Twitter to thank the president for the last 8 years of service to the United States of America

And in response, Drake said in his Summer Sixteen lyrics: 'Tell Obama that my verses are just like the whips that he in / They bulletproof.'

Drake wasn't the only celebrity gushing with heartfelt tributes after the president's historical farewell speech.

Many took to Twitter where they shared pictures of themselves meeting the president and thanking him for his service.

Among them was Madonna who posted an image of herself and Obama with the caption: 'Good-bye Mr. President! There will never be another one like you! Barack Obama you are a King amongst Men.'

Long-time friend of the president and first lady Michelle, TV host Ellen DeGeneres wrote: '@POTUS @BarackObama I love you more than I have space on Twitter to describe. #ObamaFarewell'

Other celebrities who paid tribute to the Obamas included, Kerry Washington, Cher, Whoopi Goldberg, Stephen King and Sharon Stone.

Star Trek star George Takei said: 'Watching Obama's final address, and realizing how very, very far we are about to descend. Farewell, O Captain my Captain! Heavens save us.'
