Diamond day! Kirsten Dunst shows off her ring from Jesse Plemons after couple's engagement announcement

Last week, Kirsten Dunst and actor Jesse Plemons announced their engagement.

On Friday, the 34-year-old star was spotted for the first time since the news of the impending nuptials broke.

During the outing, she sported a sizable diamond as she took care of errands in Los Angeles.

Kirsten kept her arms folded during most of her morning cruise, making it difficult to spot the engagement ring.

As the Hidden Figures star adjusted her bag and put her hands in her pockets though, you could spot the over two carat ring and its beautiful white gold band.

The Virgin Suicides actress kept warm in a burgundy cardigan decorated with lace while slinging a black purse with a long chained strap over her shoulder.

Comfy mid-rise blue jeans complimented the simple sweater while driving shoes with tassels covered her feet.

The Bring It On star debuted the engagement ring during an appearance at Palm Springs International Film Festival earlier this month.

Kirsten and fiance Jesse Plemons met while working on the FX series Fargo together in 2015. In the series they played high school sweethearts Peggy and Ed Blumquist.

The couple have been quite private about their relationship, but news of the pairing emerged last May following the Spiderman starlet's breakup with Garret Hedlund.

Go for a classic pair of skinnies like Kirsten

Kirsten Dunst was spotted out and about in her Oliver People's sunnies, fairisle cardi, skinny jeans and tassled loafers. (And giant engagement ring natch. While we might not copy her ring, we can get her all-American look by getting those jeans. Her skinnies are by Adriano Goldschmied, a brand known for their premium denim.

At a time when the distressed look is so prevalent, it's quite refreshing to see that Kirsten went a different route. The A-list actress eschews rips, tears and shreds for a simple dark blue wash with a hint of fading.

The true blue hue is just perfect for the all seasons- we'd team it with a graphic print tee and sneakers by day and add a blazer and some strappy heeled sandals by night.

Click right to snag a pair at Nordstrom. At $198 they're pretty pricey, but a worthwhile investment as they will get better with age.

The professional pair are currently collaborating on another project with one another.

Kirsten is directing an adaptation of beloved Sylvia Plath novel The Bell Jar. Future husband Jesse will star in the film alongside actress Elle Fanning.

The film begins shooting later this year, with an anticipated 2018 release.
