Ryan Gosling keeps things casually cool in a biker jacket and sunglasses as he touches down in LA after glitzy La La Land screening in London

His new film La La Land has seen huge success over the last week - with him even winning a Golden Globe for his efforts on Sunday.

But Ryan Gosling kept his cool on Saturday as he touched back down in Los Angeles, California, to continue his promotional trail for the blockbuster.

The actor, 36, opted for a casual biker jacket and sunglasses as he made his way through LAX airport, after a long flight from London.

The Canadian star looked effortlessly cool in a simple grey T-shirt and jeans as he made for home after his tiresome flight.

Maintaining his usually slick style, he then added a quirky navy jacket on top, which was adorned with trendy biker lapels of black leather.

Tying his look together, he added a set of retro sunglasses and a beige cap to his head, in a bid to keep a low profile as he headed home after such a successful week.

Ryan appears to have returned to his home in California after a whistle stop tour in London to promote his new movie La La Land.

First attending a gala screening with his stunning co-star Emma Stone, the pair then headed to the Graham Norton Show to reveal more about the flick.

The movie-musical, directed by Damien Chazelle, follows jazz pianist Sebastian Wilder (Gosling) who falls in love with aspiring actress Mia Dolan.

Leading man: Tom has also had a successful week, after his new TV series Taboo made its debut on BBC One 

The project has been met with rave reviews since its release earlier this week - and even won a whopping seven Golden Globes on Sunday. 

Emma and Ryan accepted the Best Actress and Best Actor awards respectively for a Motion Picture Musical or Comedy, while the flick itself bagged Best Motion Picture, Best Screenplay, Best Original Score and Best Original Song. 

Adding a further string to his bow however, Emma admitted on the BBC chat show that Ryan's dance skills had been far superior to hers in rehearsal.   

She explained: 'I would go to my tap dancing lessons every day and I was learning these primitive moves and every day I would ask how Ryan was doing, and they would say, "He is really good, he is amazing, he's exceeding our expectations".'

'So for two months I thought he was the best dancer of all time and I was failing miserably. Then they put us together and I was like, "I've got this!"' 

Meanwhile Ryan explained that it was the concept of a creating a classic musical in modern times that led him to sign up for the film.

'I grew up loving the musicals from the 50s and assumed they were a thing of the past,' he revealed.

'When I met the director he was really passionate to make a musical that was relevant to a modern audience.

'It was a really exciting idea. We tried to make a musical for people that don't like musicals.'
