Miley Cyrus penned a sweet message to her 'best friend' Liam Hemsworth to mark his birthday. The We Can't Stop hitmaker uploaded a silly selfie of the pair to mark the actor's 27th birthday.

She wrote: 'Happiest birthday EVER to my favorite being EVER EVER EVER! You have been my best friend since the day we met..... I am beyond lucky to share sooooo animals with you!!! I love you @liamhemsworth.'

The night before the Hannah Montana vet was seen partying with her beau during the Flaming Lips album release party at Mack Sennett Studio in Los Angeles.

Miley wore a pink and white onesie with matching pink popsicle sunglasses and a tiara in her hair.

The siren's necklace read BOSS and her earrings had HANG OVER on them.

Pink lace-up sneakers with colorful socks completed her look.

The 24-year-old singer is said to be incredibly 'happy' with her engagement to Liam.

A source told HollywoodLife: 'Miley and Liam are going strong and as much as he would like it to stay the way it has been in their relationship the last few months — very low key — he also sees how it is important for her to be public about everything. 

'She is wearing him down to loosen up his guard.'

It was added: 'She is in love with him and wants to share that. He has started peeling back from hiding their relationship, especially now that he knows it will probably help his upcoming movie release.

'He is really trying to see things from her perspective. He knows it will only help in the relationship, if she is happy he is happy!'

The insider also said she wants to do more movies in 2017, but has not planned a wedding date yet. 

The couple began dating in 2009 when they met on the set of their movie The Last Song before getting engaged three years later.

However, things didn't go to plan and they split for a while.

Rumours of a new romance began again in 2016 when they were spotted together.

Meanwhile, Liam spent Christmas with Miley's family including her siblings Brandi, Trace, Noah and Braison as well as her mother Tish and father Billy.

Uploading a picture of the festivities at the time, Brandi said: 'Cyrus fam Christmas in full swing (sic).'
