'Our feelings were considered': Paris Jackson 'surprised' after TV spoof about her late father is cancelled

Michael Jackson's daughter Paris shared her delight on Friday after a TV special in which her late father was played by Joseph Fiennes had been canceled.

England's Sky Arts Friday announced it would not air the episode of Urban Myths 'in light of the concerns expressed by Michael Jackson's immediate family,' which garnered a gracious reaction from the Beat It singer's 18-year-old daughter.

'I'm surprised the family's feelings were actually taken into consideration for once,' Paris tweeted, adding, 'we all really do appreciate it more than y'all know.'

Contented: Paris Jackson, 18, was among those who spoke out in support of England's Sky Arts cancelling an episode of Urban Myths that was based in part on her late father Michael

Thankful: Paris took to Twitter to express her gratitude over the nixing of the episode

Michael's nephew Taj, 43, also expressed his relief after the public outcry against the episode, which included a petition to boycott the show as a result.

He wrote: 'Thank you to the fans, you continue to fight for my Uncle Michael's legacy. And thank you to the media, for covering the extreme backlash.'

Both had been infuriated by the project, as Paris tweeted earlier this week that she was 'so incredibly offended' by the concept, 'it honestly [made her] want to vomit.'

Handled: Taj Jackson, 43, was also very upset at the concept of the program, calling it a show of 'blatant disrespect' against the late Bad singer

Relieved: Taj took to Twitter to acknowledge fans for their fiery response to the special

She added, 'It angers me to see how obviously intentional it was for them to be this insulting, not just towards my father, but my godmother Liz as well.'

Taj earlier said that 'no words could express the blatant disrespect' the nature of the comedy special.

The episode was based on a purported trip the late Man In The Mirror singer took with confidante Elizabeth Taylor (Stockard Channing) and Marlon Brando (Brian Cox) in the wake of the September 11, 2001 attacks on the World Trade Cente

Outrage: Paris expressed her ire in a series of tweets earlier this week, calling the production a 'shameful portrayal' of her late father

Sky Arts said in its axing of the program, which was titled Elizabeth, Michael and Marlon, 'We set out to take a light-hearted look at reportedly true events and never intended to cause any offense.

'Joseph Fiennes fully supports our decision.'

The concept of the network's Urban Myth series is to tell 'remarkable stories from well-known historical, artistic and cultural figures, which may or may not have happened in real life.'

Legends: Jackson and Taylor were snapped at a 2002 benefit in Laguna Beach, California
