Kate Mara was spotted on Thursday enjoying a stroll in New York City, a large ring glinting on her left hand.

The following day, E! News wrangled a confirmation from her representatives that she's engaged to marry her Fantastic Four co-star Jamie Bell.

When she was seen in New York, she'd pulled on a seemingly airtight pair of black jeans that accented her impressively svelte legs.

Layering up for the cold, the 33-year-old had flung a black anorak over a grey hoodie, which in turn she wore over a black and white striped top.

A small black leather purse dangled from her right shoulder, and with both hands, she held a bulging navy and sky blue duffel bag in front of her.

The House Of Cards star, who'd popped on black and white Nike trainers, was also seen later that day, having swapped the anorak for a finely checked long coat.

As E! News have pointed out, they'd met in 2014 whilst filming the ill-fated Fantastic Four reboot, which opened in cinemas in 2015.

Though the sister of Rooney Mara's never been married before, her 30-year-old husband-to-be went down the aisle with Evan Rachel Wood in 2012.

During their 19-month go at matrimony, Wood and Bell produced a now three-year-old son, but by 2014 they'd publicly separated.

As she used her left hand to point to a pair of socks advertising the Big Apple's American football team, the ring glittered on her finger.
