'Now THAT'S a legend!': Tom Jones has his fellow judges on their feet and sends Twitter into a frenzy with impromptu rendition of Great Balls of Fire on The Voice UK

Sir Tom Jones sent his fellow The Voice judges, and the rest of his fans, into a frenzy with an impromptu singalong to Great Balls Of Fire on Saturday night's episode. 

The 76-year-old proved he still had the ability to charm audiences with his velvety, deep vocals as he got to his feet to sing the Jerry Lee Lewis classic after Will.I.Am told contestants, 'don't be nervous, just bring that fire!'

'We could do Great Balls Of Fire,' the Welsh icon quipped before stunning his fellow judges with the improvised performance and prompting thousands of fans to flock to social media to praise him as a 'legend.'

'And there it is, @Rea'SirTomJones belting out a classic on the spur of the moment, now that's what I call a legend,' one Twitter user fawned over him. 

Another user echoed the same thing: 'Tom Jones is an actual legend! I love him (heart emoji) #TheVoice,' while another tweeter mentioned: 'Fair play, @RealSirTomJones still got it #TheVoice what a voice!'

Taking into consideration the format of the show, another user typed: 'Sir Tom Jones. I would have turned for him #TheVoice #greatballsoffire (fire emoji)'

And the rest of the judges were also feeling the smooth performance as Will quickly got up on his chair to dance along to the celebrated artist. 

Former American Idol alum Jennifer also couldn't resist been transported through Tom's vocal as she also got up to her feet to get her groove on.

And the social media praises didn't end there with one smitten user tweeting: 'Can't cope with how much I fancy Tom Jones (Love eyes emoji and old man emoji) #silverfox #thevoice.'

Another tweeter simply put: 'Tom Jones is f****** smooth', while another user echoed what thousands were thinking with: 'Got to credit Tom Jones. How old is he and he's still got it, class and all.'

However, it ended up being Gavin who hoped the contestants would pick him after he turned around a few times  - only to be rejected for another judge.  

He eventually got a rock singer named Carter on his team after proving to be the best fit for him.
