'Too many unanswered questions': George Michael's cousin blasts the singer's lover Fadi Fawaz and speaks out over confusion surrounding his death

  • Andros Georgiou blasted Fadi Fawaz in angry Facebook post last night
  • George Michael's cousin raised several questions about night of his death
  • Comes in response to tweets supposedly sent by Fawaz earlier this month
  • But the singer's partner claimed his Twitter account was hacked

George Michael's cousin Andros Georgiou, pictured left with the singer, has broken his silence on his relative's death with a Facebook post raising a number of questions about Michael's lover Fadi Fawaz

George Michael's cousin has broken his silence over the singer's death and raised a number of questions over his relationship with partner Fadi Fawaz.

Andros Georgiou took to Facebook last night, claiming he 'could not keep silent any longer' and aiming a number of questions at Fawaz.

In the Facebook post, he was particularly unhappy with a tweet sent by Fadi that claimed he and Michael were 'together 24 hours a day'.

Mr Georgiou also took issue with Fawaz's claim that he slept in his car on the night of Michael's death before finding his body on Christmas Day.

Referring to his cousin by his nickname 'Yog', Mr Georgiou wrote: 'I have been trying to hold back on this tweet I saw nearly 10 days ago but the more I am reading and the more I am finding out about Fadi I just can't keep my mouth shut any longer.

'No 1 he was never with Yog 24 hours a day they never lived together he lived in one of Yogs houses in Regents Park?

'And even if they were, WHY were they not together on Christmas Eve? and WHY did he sleep in the car? Too many questions have come up.'

He added: 'Every day I get more angry at the lies I am reading I pray that this nobody doesn't earn a penny from Yogs death.

'Any money he is offered for his so called story should go straight to one of Yogs charities which now you all know how many he had helped, he never took any credit he was in every word the peoples hero apart from being the one of biggest talents this Country (sic) has ever produced a true Gentleman (sic) that lost his way if only there were not so many YES people around him he would be alive today.'

He claimed his cousin would not have committed suicide but said his friends 'should have looked after him'.

Mr Georgiou took to Facebook, pictured, to ask a number of questions around the circumstances of his cousin's death

Fawaz, pictured with the pop star in London in 2012, said he and Michael spent Christmas Eve together but that he 'fell asleep in his car' and discovered him dead the next morning

Mr Georgiou wrote: 'One thing is for sure this was not an act of suicide. He should of (sic) been looked after by his so called friends!

'If I was around this would never of happened and I have to live with that the rest of my life I am so very sad as I am sure you all are as well, I have to pray that the police come to the conclusion I have and justice will be served.'

As reported by MailOnline, Mr Georgiou, who once toured the world with his cousin, said he had repeatedly begged the Wham! star to get help because he feared his drug addictions would eventually kill him.

However, a series of rows caused a rift between the two men and they had not seen each other for 18 years.

Tweets from Fawaz's (pictured with Michael) account earlier this month suggested the pair were 'inseparable' and that the singer was 'trying to kill himself' but the former hairdresser later claimed his account had been hacked and he did not send the tweets

Mr Georgiou dismissed claims Michael was taking Class A drugs before his death, insisting he had 'stopped all the naughty stuff'.

He told The Times: 'He was on antidepressants but he wasn't doing drugs any more.

'He had swapped drugs for drink but he was doing better. The craziest thing is that when we were 20, 21 he used to say he'd die young. I'd say, don't be stupid, what are you talking about? Now he's gone, it's devastating.'

Fawaz has been questioned by officers investigating Michael's death but there has been no suggestion of any wrong-doing or that he has sought to exploit it.

A post-mortem into the singer's death was inconclusive. He was 53.

Further toxicology tests have now been ordered but the results will not be back for several weeks.

Fawaz, a former hairdresser who has been trying to make a career as a photographer, was spoken to by police, and later said officers had been 'amazing' and 'supportive'.

He told them he spent Christmas Eve with the singer, but fell asleep in his car that night and only discovered that he was dead when he went to wake him the following morning.

Officers have also taken a statement from a photographer who took pictures of Fawaz going in and out of George Michael's house with a take-away coffee on Christmas Eve.

Speaking to the Daily Mail earlier this month, Fawaz said: 'The police have been amazing. They have been supportive.

'They have done what normally happens when someone dies. They have not been accusing me, never; they have been very supportive.'

On New Year's Day, a string of posts appeared on Twitter asserting that he and Michael were together 24/7 and that the singer had repeatedly tried to take his life and had finally succeeded.

Fawaz, left, was questioned by police over Michael's death but later said the officers had been 'amazing and supportive'

But the posts were quickly taken down, with Fawaz claiming his account had been hacked.

This week it emerged that Fawaz and his father joined Michael on a secret trip to a hospital in Vienna last November to see two top doctors - a month before he died.

The pop star jetted in to the Austrian capital in a private jet to see doctors at AKH General Hospital, where his life was saved when he had pneumonia in 2011.

There is also a belief among sources close to Michael that Fawaz will not be a beneficiary of George's will, which will divide the singer's £105 million fortune.

His sisters and charities — including Childline and the Terrence Higgins Trust — are said to be in line to benefit.

Meanwhile Fawaz's nephew Josh has revealed his uncle made a heartbreaking phone call to him in the wake of Michael's death.

He added that the suspicion surrounding Fadi is 'bulls***' and that his uncle tried to revive him when he saw his partner in bed.

Josh, 28, said his uncle contacted him and began crying down the phone, the Australia Daily Telegraph reports.

He returned to Brisbane last week after he lived in London for two years.

He told the newspaper: 'I've never heard a grown man cry so much. Fadi called me saying "what am I going to do without him?"

'They spent almost every day together for six years. He was so upset, he had been crying at the house beside George and I believe he found him dead.

'I'm the first person to know that he (Michael) passed away.'
