Lawyer turned Instagram model Pia Muehlenbeck has revealed the hilarious reality of what it takes to get the perfect bikini shot.  

The 22-year-old attempted to take a raunchy beachside snap for her Instagram account on Sunday in which she's casually shown lying on a pristine shore. 

However, in a behind the scenes image shared to her Twitter, Pia revealed she'd actually been knocked akimbo by an errant wave as she tried to get the perfect shot.

The German-born beauty is seen with her legs in the air as a small wave rolls in ruins a photo in which she was lying on her back.

In the amusing picture, she wears a black strapless bikini top and mismatched bottoms with white and orange stripes. 

Attempting not to get too soaked, she helplessly raises her limbs as water splashes her, running up her body and wetting her hair.

'The ocean has a mind of its own,' she captioned the hilarious image, adding a laughing emoji.

'It's very strange to me when I see people out wearing Slinkii. I always approach them,' Pia told Grazia. 

She added, 'It's so embarrassing, I go and introduce myself and squeal and hug them. It's so important to get personal with people, and get their feedback.'
