We've all seen a drone flying around at some point or another, but seeing what it actually does to the air around it is something else entirely. Researchers at NASA's Ames Research Center in California have used computer models to create an animation of the air flow around a quadcopter drone. They developed the animation for the DJI Phantom 3 quadcopter - a battery-powered drone with four rotors.
The 'mystery lights' were seen in video uploaded by conspiracy theorist group Secure 10. They claim it was filmed from the ISS.

Giant gravity 'smile' wave is spotted on Venus: Bow-shaped feature stretches 6,200 miles across its atmosphere
Venus is covered in a thick atmosphere, with clouds of sulphuric acid moving westwards faster than the planet itself rotates. But among this fast-moving atmosphere scientists have discovered a mysterious stationary patch stretching 6,200 miles (10,000 km) across. Researchers from the Rikkyo University in Tokyo studied the mysterious bow-shaped patch, after it was spotted in December 2015.

Forget self-driving cars: Airbus will test a prototype for a self-FLYING taxi by the end of this year
Airbus, based in Toulouse, France, is creating a fleet of flying taxis named CityAirbus, which it says could first be tested by the end of 2017. Tom Enders, CEO of Airbus, said that using the skies could reduce costs for city infrastructure planners, and could help people avoid rush-hour on the ground.
Military spy laser could transform Earth's atmosphere into a giant magnifying glass to snoop on enemies
BAE Systems is developing the Laser Developed Atmospheric Lens (LDAL), which uses a directed energy laser alongside a lens system, at its base in Lincolnshire. The concept mirrors two existing effects in nature – the reflective properties of the ionosphere, and desert mirages.
Portrait of Robert Burns contains secret Masonic symbols that have been hidden for 230 years, says expert
Jerry Brannigan, a freelance writer, presented his theory on the 'Da Vinci code of paintings' at a conference held by the University of Glasgow's Centre for Robert Burns Studies in Ayr. Burns was Scotland's national poet and a high-ranking member of the Freemasons. Tiny letters and symbols - such as a comet and hooded figures - have been painted in minute detail invisible to the naked eye in a series of paintings by Alexander Nasmyth, a contemporary of Burns, he claims. The location of the masonic symbols on the painting are circled in red.
Incredible video shows the bizarre 'disco spider' with a pulsating abdomen that has left experts baffled
The spectacular images and video were taken in Singapore by local macro photographer Nicky Bay. Mr Bay has come up with various theories as to why this spider might be displaying this behaviour. These include movement to attract prey, warning for potential predators or simply the movement of digestive fluids. Since he published his footage online other people have come forward to suggest the spider could be mimicking the head of a snake, mantis or gecko as the pattern on the abdomen appears to resemble two eyes.
Mystery over spooky figure that appears in snap taken under the full moon - but is MISSING from a picture taken in quick succession
The uploader, whose Reddit name is MeTarzanYouJane, posted the two images on the website asking other users to help him figure out what happened in the photo. He assures that the photos are not edited and says that there was no smudge on the lens when the photos were taken. While some Redditors are adamant that the picture has fallen victim to Photoshop, others claim the editing tool had not been used and that there’s no way to explain the figure’s appearance.
How the dinosaurs REALLY died out: Researchers reconstruct the dark and frozen conditions on Earth after asteroid megastrike
The apocalyptic time that wiped out the dinosaurs has been reconstructed by scientists in unprecedented detail. They found tiny droplets of sulfuric acid formed high up in the air after the well-known impact of a large asteroid 66 million years ago, blocking the sunlight for several years. They say this 'big chill' had far more catastrophic effects that first though, even mixing oceans and killing off sea life. The animation shows global annual mean surface air temperature dropped by at least 26C, and annual average temperature was below freezing point for about 3 years.
Incredible images reveal how eruptions from Alaska's Bogoslof volcano have transformed the island in just two decades
Satellite images taken 19 years apart have revealed a massive crater created by the Bogoslof volcano in Alaska, that has taken out about a third of the island's landmass. The island has also added roughly 57,000 square meters of new land, thanks to huge amounts of lava and ash pouring from the active stratovolcano. The island has changed dramatically in just two decades. Points A-D are the same place in both photos. A is Castle Rock, B shows 1927 lava deposits, C shows 1992 lava and D is Fire Island. View is roughly North and the distance from A to C is around 820 metres (0.5 miles)

What Earth will look like in 250 million years: Simulations show new MEGACONTINENT called Amasia in unprecedented detail
Researchers have found that a new megacontinent - Amasia - will form in the next 250 million years. North and South America will crunch together, with the Caribbean Sea and Arctic Ocean disappearing, while Asia will join the Americas, according to research by Yale University researchers and Japan's Agency for Marine-Earth Science and Technology. This will happen because of the movement of the earth's tectonic plates - the enormous plates of the earth's crust that have drifted together and apart over hundreds and millions of years.
The incredible 'mad max' journey across Antarctica: Stunning satellite image reveals gruelling trek to resupply Earth's most remote research station
It is an stunning image that shows the struggle of scientists undertaking research in one of the most remote labs on the planet. It shows a gruelling 10 day traverse to reach Concordia, a giant two towered research station in Antarctica. Pulled by heavy-duty tractors, the caravans carry up to 300 tonnes of fuel, food and heavy equipment in 300 m-long convoys organised by France's IPEV polar institute.
The terrifying moment a rattlesnake attacks a rat is captured in slow-motion for the first time
