It was the controversial split that had all of Australia talking.

But despite breaking her heart, it has been claimed former Bachelor, Blake Garvey, may be helping his jilted ex Sam Frost through her most recent break-up with Bachelorette beau,Sasha Mielczarek.

According to a close pal, quoted in this week's New Idea magazine, the former couple have been talking and texting constantly since her split was announced after Christmas.

'He [Blake] was nervous about reaching out to Sam at first, but his texts were met with open arms by Sam, and now they're speaking all the time.

'They're really bonding,' the source claims.

Blake also recently split from his Bachelor girlfriend, Louise Pillidge, second runner-up to Sam on the 2014 series, whom he started dating after unceremoniously dumping fiancee Sam following the finale.

The source also claims the 33-year-old has always had a soft spot for Sam, but the recently single Celebrity Apprentice star is not looking to reconnect romantically.

It's understood the Perth-based real estate agent is attempting to make amends with the reality TV star-turned-radio host and is worried about the 27-year-old.

'Blake's been through The Bachelor wringer just like Sam, so he knows where she's coming from,' a friend of The Bachelorette has also told the magazine.

However, her friends have also not ruled out the pair getting back together, saying: 'Never say never with these two. They fell in love a couple of years ago, so who's to say it won't happen again?'

It seems friends or more than friends, Sam's close pals are happy the former Bachelor's is back in her life after a horror year.

In 2016, the reality TV starlet faced online trolling and ended the year with her split from Sasha - which also meant walking away from a house they planned to built together - while losing her coveted breakfast radio slot with Rove McManus.

Sam and Sasha announced their split on December 27 in an official statement from IMG talent manager Georgina Harrop.

'They wish to thank everyone for their love and support over the past 18 months.'
