Awkward! Bella Hadid and ex The Weeknd cross paths at concert for first time since he started dating Selena Gomez

It was inevitable that they would cross paths at some point.

And it happened on Wednesday night when former couple Bella Hadid and The Weeknd both ended up at Madison Square Garden for a concert - the first time they've been in the same place since news broke that the singer is now dating Selena Gomez.

The event was a tribute concert to music executive A$AP Yams who passed away two years ago and while The Weeknd was performing on stage, Bella, 20, was in the crowd with BFF Kendall Jenner.

Celebrity jeweler Ben Baller posted a series of videos to Snapchat and Instagram showing stars hit the stage during the night including French Montana, Kendrick Lamar, A$AP Rocky and more.

No doubt Kendall, 21, was there to support pal and rumoured beau A$AP Rocky.

While it's not clear whether Bella and her ex actually came face-to-face, their group of mutual pals were definitely mingling backstage.

After sharing a clip of his 'boy' The Weeknd (born Abel Tesfaye), Baller shared Snapchats from backstage showing the models hanging out.

He also posted a clip of Bella and Kendall dancing to another performer during the night.

A source recently told E! News that Bella is not yet over the Starboy hitmaker and still loves him. 

'They are on fine terms, but she is bitter about the romance with Selena. She was not happy when all of that gossip went everywhere between The Weeknd and Selena.'

The singer was spotted canoodling with Selena, 24, last week as they exited a restaurant in Santa Monica after a three-hour dinner date.  

Another source said '[The Weeknd] always had a thing for Selena,

'He thinks she is extremely talented and sexy. They recently started talking before the holidays but she has been on his radar before.' 

Meanwhile sources from Selena's camp say the songstress did nothing wrong because she was 'only acquaintances' with Bella. 

Bella split with The Weeknd in November after 18 months together.
