Come here Ryan! Meryl Streep gets maternal as she fixes Gosling's bow tie while they catch up at the SAG Awards

With 20 Oscar and 30 Golden Globe nominations to her names, she's been a fixture at Hollywood's award shows for decades.

So far from being impressed by the glamour of life on the red carpet, Meryl Streep treats the annual awards season as a chance to catch up with her pals.

And it was clear the 67-year-old was enjoying herself, as she called over Ryan Gosling to fix his bow tie on Sunday night at the SAG Awards.

A decade of friendship: The pair first met at the Oscars in 2007

Spotting sight of the actor, who was wearing a black suit with jauny bow tie, she immediately set to straightening him up.

Ryan laughed as he waited patiently while Meryl, who wore an embellished white long-sleeved dress, tended to him.

The two have known one another for ten years, after meeting when Ryan asked Meryl to help put his mother at ease.

Photobomb! The 67-year-old jumped into Gina Rodriguez's shot for a photo

Back in 2007 at the Oscars, he sat between superstar Meryl and his own mother - who had worn her hair in a beehive.

As he later recalled: 'My mom sat in front of Rachel Weisz and her hair was so high and my mom kept sinking in her chair and I didn’t know what to do ’cause I was — I wanted to have a nice night.

'I didn’t know Meryl Streep but she was sitting next to me and I said in a commercial break, "Would you mind just telling my mom you like her hair?"'

She's with them: Streep stands with Jocelyn Towne and Simon Helberg, who are making a political protest in light of Trump's ban on immigrants and refugees from Muslim countries

Streep didn't heistate.

'She was like, "I got this,"' Gosling recalled on the Graham Nolan show. 'And then the commercial went and she goes, "Do you know, I was gonna do a beehive and I wish I had."

'And my mom was like, raise the roof all night.'
