Elegant: Octavia Spencer was already stealing the show as she worked the SAG Awards red carpet in a glamorous black dress with a sheer neckline and peplum top in Los Angeles on Sunday

The dress hugged her waistline and had a slightly sheer torso.

Her locks were scraped back into a taut and sleek style that put her famous features on full display.

She rocked smoky eye shadow and blush to bring out her radiant features, and added some more glitz and glam with a pair of turquoise-hued teardrop earrings.

Not letting any nerves get in the way, Octavia appeared in truly high spirits as she smiled broadly on the red carpet and waved to fans.

Hello there! Spencer looked radiant as she happily waved to supporters

Octavia was up for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Supporting Role for her role in the film Hidden Figures, however the award ended up going to Fences star Viola Davis.

Hidden Figures also stars  Taraji P. Henson, Janelle Monáe, and Kevin Costner.

In the film, Taraji plays Katherine G. Johnson, the woman who formed a powerful trio of 'human computers' with colleagues Dorothy Vaughan (played by Octavia) and Mary Jackson (played by Janelle) that helped propel the space program's first-ever orbit around earth by astronaut John Glenn and his crew on February 20, 1962.

Big night: Octavia is up for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Supporting Role for her role in the film Hidden Figures

Simply stunning: She rocked smoky eye shadow and blush to bring out her radiant features, and added some more glitz and glam with a pair of turquoise teardrop earrings.

Octavia raved about her co-stars Taraji and Janelle while speaking with Brad Goreski for E! on the red carpet.

'What you saw on screen is who we are in real life, as far as the chemistry goes. I have always been a fan of Taraji's, so the fact that we're actually getting to work together and play sisters and we've now become sisters in real life is wonderful,' she told Brad.

Of Janelle she said: 'She's a breath of fresh air, she's a force of nature.'

Hidden Figures is also up for Outstanding Performance by a Cast In A Motion Picture.

Octavia's work in the film has earned her an Oscar nomination for Best Supporting Actress.

Added extras: The star rocked a pair of turquoise-hued teardrop earrings

Destined for stardom: Hidden Figures, which also stars Taraji P. Henson, Janelle Monáe, and Kevin Costner, is about the inspirational true story of three African American female mathematicians who helped NASA put the first men in space
