'He wasn't involved!' Casey Affleck insists he had no reason to thank Ben after missing brother out of Golden Globes acceptance speech

He's the lesser known Affleck, often finding his accomplishments overshadowed by big brother huge success.

And as Casey Affleck takes his space in the spotlight with this year's hotly tipped movie Manchester By The Sea, he doesn't necessarily want to share it with Ben.

As he attended the SAG Awards on Sunday, Casey was asked by a laughing Giuliana Rancic why he hadn't mentioned Ben in his speech at the Golden Globes - where he was named Best Actor.

'He wasn't involved!' Casey Affleck insisted he had no reason to thank brother after missing Ben out of Golden Globes acceptance speech; he spoke on the SAG Awards red carpet, Sunday

He didn't mention me! Ben was joking around when he said Casey missed him, but Casey wasn't amused by the comments

But far from finding the question funny, Casey was serious in his reply.

'I was sort of just curious as to what I was supposed to be thanking him for," he insisted.

'Maybe he thought he was involved in the movie, but he wasn't. There's a lot of things to thank Ben for, but standing at the Golden Globes was not the moment to do it since he wasn't involved in the movie.'

Nominated: Casey in Manchester By The Sea, for which he won the Best Actor Golden Globe

His comments came after Ben joked that his younger brother had missed him out of his speech.

'I was a little taken aback,' he said light-heartedly on Jimmy Kimmel. 'I wouldn't do that. If it's me, I thank people.

Casey, who is hotly tipped for an Oscar for his role, was nominated at the SAGs for Best Male Actor in a Motion Picture.
