'Nothing has been better than being your mama': Kate Beckinsale shares cute flashback photo of daughter Lily as she celebrates her 18th birthday
She previously couldn't contain her excitement when her daughter Lily was accepted into university.
And Kate Beckinsale was every inch the proud mother when her only child turned 18, celebrating the landmark occasion with a cute flashback post.
The 43-year-old actress posted a heartwarming snap of Lily as a toddler, clomping around in her mother's massive shoes.

Kate shared a loving message alongside the old photo, writing: '18 and now you're in the big girl shoes for real. I love you so much @lily_beckinsale.
'Nothing has been better in my life than being your mama. Happy happy happy birthday to my favourite, funniest best person in the world.
'Ps we will obviously get you better shoes those are hideous I don't know what I was thinking.'
Following her sweet tribute, Kate was inundated with happy birthday messages for her daughter from fans.

The Hollywood beauty raises daughter Lily with her ex Michael Sheen, who she dated from 1995 until 2003.
Kate recently admitted in an interview with Too Fab that she got into a bit of trouble with her daughter over an Instagram post about her.
While promoting her new film, Underworld: Blood Wars, the actress acknowledged that her daughter wasn't too happy about her parents enthusiasm over her college acceptance.
'I got into a bit of trouble at home for that,' Beckinsale said during the interview.

She continued: 'She said, "I wish you'd said I got into the college of my choice, because it sounded like you had no hope of me getting into any college anywhere, made me sound like a loser!"'
The actress and her ex Michael, 47, celebrated their daughter's achievements with the funny post on Thursday.
In the sweet Instagram photo, the actress, leaped into the arms of her ex in sheer joy as they celebrated their girl's academic achievements.
Kate wrote: 'The appropriate fatherly response when you find out your girl got into college: burst into tears, drop everything, rush over and pick up everyone even remotely involved.

The hilarious snap saw the Underworld star straddling the Welsh actor, 47, before he scooped Lily up into his arms.
Kate's social media outpouring comes after Lily recently joked that her screen star parents were going to stop her from getting into college.
And this isn't the first time she's embarrassed her daughter. When asked if she often gets into trouble she admitted: 'Sure, but that keeps it fun doesn't it?'
Kate and Michael are very vocal advocates of their modern family life and have maintained a close bond ever since their split.
'We were very lucky in that we didn't have an acrimonious split,' the actress revealed in 2004 of her split with Sheen (seen here together in New York earlier this year)
The actress said in an interview with InStyle magazine in 2004: 'We were very lucky in that we didn't have an acrimonious split.
'We are still very close and [our daughter] sees us around each other. He's absolutely one of my most favourite people ever.
'I love him dearly - I would miss him dreadfully if he wasn't in my life.'
In 2011, Michael said of his ex: 'Kate will always be one of the most important people in my life. I have real love for her.'
The stunning actress is set to reprise her role as Selene in the fourth film in the franchise, which hits theaters on January 6.
