'She's just like me': Jessica Gomes gushes about 'natural beauty' Elle Macpherson... saying she's inspired by the veteran supermodel's 'chameleon' nature

  • Jessica Gomes' compared herself to role model Elle 'The Body' Macpherson
  • She drew similarities from their respective work with Sports Illustrated
  • Each have delved into business, with Gomes set to release a skincare line
  • They also have both appeared alongside Hollywood actors in big budget films

The David Jones ambassador showcased the department store's Autumn line on Wednesday night.

But while her own career blossoms, Jessica Gomes isn't coasting and plans to continue in the footsteps of her role model, Elle Macpherson.

The 32-year-old told Daily Mail Australia the supermodel is 'just like me', as they had both been star models for Sports Illustrated.

Same same but different: David Jones ambassador Jessica Gomes (left) says she thinks veteran supermodel Elle Macpherson (right) is 'just like' her, and listed the model as her role model

Gomes is keenly following in The Body's footsteps too, with two movies set to hit the silver screen later this year.

B******s and Once Upon A Time In Venice are both comedy movies, and will be her second and third forays onto the silver screen.

Similarly, Macpherson has appeared in Batman and Robin, Sirens and Jane Eyre.

It's the veteran supermodel-turned-businesswoman's 'chameleon' nature that has Gomes so inspired, she explained.

'I think she embodies everything – businesswoman, role model, fashion model, swimwear model... she's a natural beauty as well,' she gushed.

Inspired: Watching Macpherson conquer film, modelling and business has given Gomes the drive to do the same

To prepare for Wednesday's runway, the Perth-raised model said she had been getting in perfect shape by enjoying all the outdoor exercise Sydney had to offer.

'I train with Lauryn Eagle – I love boxing it’s one of my favourite things to do,' she said.

'I've also been swimming and going for long walks on the beach.'

Gomes says she finds it easiest to train when she's learning a new skill, like boxing, dancing or pilates.

She has also been eating clean, and listed salmon, broccoli and brown rice as her current menu staples.

Business ladies: A fan of the 52-year-old's health supplement line, Gomes is preparing to launch her skincare line in the coming months

Alongside her healthy diet, the model has previously gushed about her role model's supplement brand.

In 2015, she told Harper's Bazaar she added Macpherson's Super Elixr to her smoothies, and that she 'loved' it.

With nothing yet filling out the business portion of her plan to emulate Australia's greatest model export, Gomes plans to launch her skincare line Equal Beauty in mid-March.

Branching out: Elle created Super Elixr to work as a supplement for herself - and has since made a small empire from the product

She explained the project had taken about two years to finalise, and the range would consist of beauty 'staples', which worked to hydrate the skin and were easy to use.

Each product would be made from all Australian ingredients, and work to improve the skin with each use.

The name of her product she believes is self-explanatory.

'I wanted to share that beauty does come from within,' she said.

'It doesn’t matter where we come from, what colour skin, what gender we are, what social status we are – we are all equal.'
