Will pregnant Beyonce still perform at Coachella? Singer's April headline slot is uncertain after announcement she's expecting twins

She announced on Wednesday that she is pregnant with twins.

But it is unclear whether Beyonce's big announcement will impact her upcoming performance at the Coachella festival in April. 

According to TMZ, festival organisers were unaware their main headliner was expecting - first learning the news via her Instagram along with her fans.

The 35-year-old singer announced she and husband Jay-Z are expecting twins - posting a pregnant snapshot of herself on Instagram account on Wednesday.

She added a caption which read: 'We would like to share our love and happiness. We have been blessed two times over. We are incredibly grateful that our family will be growing by two, and we thank you for your well wishes. - The Carters.'

TMZ report that Beyonce's pregnancy with daughter Blue Ivy - now five - was a 'difficult' one, 'requiring bed rest' and points out that the star's second time around with twins could require even more care. This could therefore put her Coachella appearance at risk.

Sources told the website that organisers Goldenvoice, a subsidiary of AEG Live which produces the event, apparently have 'no idea' how far along Beyonce's pregnancy is.

Another insider said the company have tried and failed to reach the singer or her representative. 

However, a source connected with the singer apparently told TMZ that she still plans to perform - health depending. 

And Goldenvoice apparently 'isn't worried' about their star turn, mainly due to the festival selling out before the headline acts were even announced at the beginning of January.

If she performs, Beyonce will be only the second female headline act since the start of the festival back in 1999 - she follows in the footsteps of Bjork - in 2002 and 2007.

The Single Ladies singer, who has kept out of the spotlight in recent months, and her rapper husband are already parents to five-year-old Blue Ivy.

In 2013, Beyonce revealed she had suffered a miscarriage prior to the arrival of her daughter.
